Or it’s turning 3 first rounders into 4.

1 with our choice of player minus FOS/Lalor

2 from that massive group of let’s say tier 2 players.

1 who may slide into 21.

Hypothetically speaking.

2:Fos
15: Trainor
16:Allan/Lindsay
21: Dodson.

I think my entire fanbase would be thrilled with that outcome.

Edited to add: unless of course you land p2 for 6.
We get one of those gun mods at 7 and don’t need to use F1

You need to do it before the draft though. I don’t know why GWS would do it unless their confident the player they want is at 8, so if I’m them I wait til draft night and see who’s available which kills a chance for 2.

Aren’t they apparently in love with Travaglia?

Maybe. But if you land 2 there is no need for us to trade up. Someone slides to 7

If it's 10 for 13 and 29 it may make sense if we think the guy we want will still be there at 13.

It would only really be WC we'd have to worry about.

i didn't like reading it initially but it grows on you.

There's a chance at 10 that Armstrong is still there or even one of the mids like Langford/Smillie/Reid. I'd hate to miss one of them.

In saying that though, if we knew who Port were targeting then it's probably ok, we have pick 11 and then just need to know who West Coast are picking.

Likely get pick 29 for free and the same player we would have at 11.

If we do this, we must not have any interest in Bo Allen (despite reports contrary).

Don't see what Port has to offer that we'd want. They don’t have a F1, we don't need 29 and the only way we'd swap 10 for 13 (plus something) would be if Port want to pick up a slider live on draft night, not now.
Maybe indicates we're going to trade out 20,23 and/or 24 into next year...

I did propose giving them 32 and a Future second for next year.

Either way if you land 2 off north for 6.

We are landing one of Langford/Smillie/Jagga at 7

I'm still not sure I want us to get pick 2. Part of me would like to see what North does if they have no takers.

Interesting draft for sure

Honestly haven’t heard any rumours about who GWS are into.

Travaglia does some sense given they’ve lost Perryman, but still have Whitfield, Idun, Ash and Himmelberg as intercepting defenders and looking at their list a couple of 19 year old “defenders” I know nothing about. Their midfield looks a bit old outside Green and Callaghan and their KPF stocks a bit thin too, but maybe Riccardi and Derken are enough back up.

1) Jagga isn't going to slide past Adelaide at pick 4. If we pass on him, Carlton or Adelaide will take him. Clubs are more inclined to pick best available at the top top end of the draft.

2) If, some teams who are in the market for top 10 midfielders do decide to draft based on team needs, it's likely that the larger slower bodies will slide. This is because Carlton, Adelaide and St Kilda all desperately need speedy, crafty acceleration-from-stoppage type mids (Draper, FOS, Jagga, Allan) rather than powerful, imposing, defensive types (Landford, Smillie).

3) I don't think we will pick FOS and he goes to Carlton with his cousin.

Yeah I'm thinking it has to be related to any pick 2 trade. Otherwise it just doesn't make sense for us as we already have enough picks for the list spots we have open. We don't need more and we're technically not allowed to take in more.

FOS PROSPECTS ARE ALIVE AND WELL!

The only thing it could be is for an F2 if it’s for a standalone deal. Port can’t add a pick this year as we don’t have the list spots to accommodate it.

The only benefit of that (noting that Port’s F2 likely is 40+ next year after NGA, F/S’ and compo picks are factored in) has basically no points powers next year.

If a deal is for 13 + F2, I’d guess we’d use it in conjunction with a later pick (20,23 or 24) to make a play for another teams F1 (North, Essendon, St Kilda and West Coast most likely).

Other than that it would be in a multi-team deal and it’s too hard to predict who that is with (love for it to be for pick 2 and not involving 6).

Only way I see us giving Port 10 is something like:

Pick 10 to Port for 13 and 29
18 and 20 to St Kilda for 8
6 and 23 to Norf for 2 and F2

1, 2, 8, 11, 13, 24, 29.
This is feasible.

fuark based on that gimme lalor, smillie, tauru & hotton

obviously that's just their rankings and clubs will all have different ones but the fact that there's a world where it's possible... 😍

that ranking is also why i'm not on board with 10 for 13+29 unless some other shit happens

North will need to table their F1 to split pick 2 for 2 early first rounder or accept one early first round pick and a late first round pick.

I doubt Richmond would entertain the second option given the evenness of the draft. We could turn the late 1st rounders into F1s if the right player was available for other clubs wanting to trade in.

The first option could be acceptable to both clubs if North were really keen to get a pair of KPPs early in the draft
2 + F1 for 6,11 and possibly a swap of future 2nd round picks

North wouldn't accept trading down further then pick 6 and would only do that if that they were certain that Tauru would be available at 6.

Reading above makes no sense to go from pick 13 to pick 10. Literally 3 spots. Port have picks 13,29,36 & 50
The only way we accept this is for 13 & 29 for 10 which seems to be extreme overs. Just my thoughts. Surely they’d want something else in return unless this is tied with another deal. Ie north? Pick 2?
