They have until this coming Friday to agree on a pick swap. It’s like trade week, everything will be done just before the bell sounds imo. It’s just the way of List Managers
Pick swaps before the draft are usually only for gathering points to match bids, rather than blindly upgrading your position not knowing who you're going to be able to draft.
Hmm, the fact that we have been talking to GWS, Port and Norf doesn’t ring any bells? Seriously! We are clearly after pick 2 if we can get it at a price Blair is happy with.
We can be talking about trades with those sides that involve picks in the 8-23 range of the draft given the post yesterday that said we're not interested in trading 6 or 24.

If I'm North, I'm not giving up pick 2 for picks that will be outside the top 10 come the draft with bids inside the top 10. I'd take pick 2 and add another top level kid and then decide if they want to go all in on this draft and then offer up their first 2 picks next year to get back into the first round this year.
We 99% know who we’re taking at 1. So really pick 2 is already upon us.

Anything involving 2 needs to happen before the night. There will complication enough without being put under the pump in the first five minutes.

Trades for 2 have to be sorted beforehand
As many have said previously if we rated the top 2 kids clearly ahead of everyone else then we'd pull the trigger, but IMO I don't believe that we do. I believe we've got pick 1 just about locked away, and they will completely lock it in the week prior to the draft when they usually have the last big get together as a recruiting team and go through various outcomes on how the draft could pan out and then put in place plans to deal with the various scenarios.

With that in mind that is why I don't believe we will do anything regarding trading until the draft itself and will then use our arsenal of picks to make moves to move up or down the order as required

What a slow midfield.
Above 3 plus Hopper & McAuliffe
When I look at a potential midfield of Taranto Hopper McAuliffe Ross Lalor & FOS it appears to be very much the same across the board big bodied contested types but not much in the way of points of difference. Which makes me think we may look at different types of midfielders with our picks after Lalor at 1. Smith Draper Reid & Lindsay could be those that we target to balance up the midfield mix a bit more.

Interesting as I've been told 24 is 100% being shopped for a future first and my source is rock solid. That was about two weeks ago however.
Norf have caved.
24 for 2 & f1

Just watched a lot of Allan my god he is so explosive. Far more athletic than any of the mids we are looking at. Could be an absolute star.
Its his decision making that lets him down, only gonna have less time at AFL level.

If we offer NorF #6 + #13 on draft night they will jump at that for their #2 + F1

Do the trade with Port for #10 for #13 + #29 ( knowing they take Travaglia at #10 and Eagles will take Allan with #12)
so effectively gaining #29 as a bonus

Trade #6 + #13 to NorF for #2 + F1
We get #2 + #29 + F1 for #6 + #10

The last handful of drafts have been bloody boring for Tiger fans. Excitement levels finally off the charts and I swear it's not getting closer. One of my highlights of draft night is hearing the Shifter Sheehan's/ Tuomeys compare the just selected player with another established or past player. They'll start by telling us the draft only bats deep til 15 yet hilariously liken kids taken all the way through the draft.... pick 44 oozes class and has a lot of Shane Crawford about him. Pick 50 reminds me of Dustin Fletcher. Pick 56 is just like Nick Riewoldt...... In all the years Kyle Kirby, Todd Elton and that Saints nuffie Arie Schoenmaker are the only ones I recall spoken about somewhat negatively.

For once I wish they'd liken some kids to past players like Ben Lennon, Corey Ellis, Jayden Post, Ben Nason hell even Relton Roberts.

Excellent, hopefully that means us getting pick 2 is not happening either. I want to see some posters here melt.

Needs more steal of the draft Reece McKenzie

You may be right and nothing may involve us until the night, but the good thing is, if 2 is still in play we should know soon.

Not true. We could put an offer to North, they can wait to see if they get offered more and accept which ever offer is best or proceed with pick 2.

Very tempting. I’d be happy with that. Can’t we give port 11 instead of 10?

I'd like to hear his summaries regarding those picks, could be the odd one or two here that would melt big time if that's how the draft plays out.
