We remain diametrically opposed. I'd do 6 and 11 for 2 and F1.
Understand I'm likely in the minority.

Wtf is this obsession with us taking so many talls? Have I missed a memo somewhere or something? Yeah we need a developing key forward but f*** me.
when a team is bad I feel like people are obsessed with findng a 'spine', probably due to stability etc. But they only take up 4 spots of the 18 and I think we already have 2 locked in, in Balta and Gibcus plus Lynch for a few more years and Lefau and Bauer did some good things as well. We need a lynch successor but our KPP cupboard isn't bare

1. Lalor
6. Langford
10. Lindsay
11. Berry/Hotton
18. Oliver
20. Gerreyn
23. Jacques
24. Best of the rest or trade.

Some serious talent in the mids, forwards, backs/wings. All excellent kicks, might be a bit lacking in speed but they make up for it in being game breakers, ie; impactful, plus they're leaders. They all have some serious upside.

Target those proven KPF's, Rucks and KPD's through trades, we're going to have access to 2 years of future picks next year and the year after, plus the ability to buy picks with our outrageous bank. Trading for KPP's wouldn't be easier.

There's no point in targeting talls this year, use the picks to build game breakers. I don't see any of the talls being that type, apart from Gerreyn.

Jagga's 3 VFL games with us

42%, 48%, 50% disposal efficiency. He got the ball a good amount, and got clearances, but a lot were just hack kicks.

Do people really want to use picks 1/2 on Anthony Miles 2.0 with a bit of extra evasiveness?

Wasn’t it horrible conditions?

Unfortunately he's gone by 6, a team would live-trade up and get him if he gets past Carlton. I reckon the Crows would take him over Draper anyway
Who has the currency to live-trade up? Only St Kilda, really.

Maybe Melbourne says yes to 5, 9, F2 for St Kilda's 7, 8, F1?

Lalor and O’Sullivan

Or

Lalor and Smilie

At the end of last year, I would be saying do everything to make top outcome happen.

Up to the middle point of the year, I would be saying, both would be outstanding outcomes.

I’m currently saying, both would be outstanding outcomes. I’m obviously a FOS fanatic and would prefer the first option no doubt, but enough to lose another vital pick? Depends which pick I suppose.

It’s interesting that Norf have spoken to Reid, Travaglia, Berry and Bo Allan in the last week. That I know of.

They aren’t taking them at 2. Not at 6 either.

Lots to play out.
I’d go the second outcome as smillie has the biggest upside of any player in this draft

And he will. This draft is deep not super elite at the top end. We'll get some strong players this year but Sharp is the next generational talent and we're in the box seat.
inb4 the AFL commission try an implement a draft lottery system to come in for the 2025 draft

We'd only be taking one less player. You make it sound like we are giving up the world where it's just one pick, which we will have likely in the top 5 next year.
This notion that North are all of a sudden going to find their mojo and push higher up the ladder is ridiculous.

They are bottom 6 again next year without doubt and more than likely bottom 4.
IMO it's becoming clear that Blair rates the players we'll get at 6, 10 & 11 this year as equal to or better than the players we'd get at 2 and Norths F1. If he didn't then I'd have no doubt that he would have pulled the trigger already.

RT please.
Don't be ridiculous.
What was ridiculous with what I posted?

North conceded 410 points in their last 3 games after they beat us, IMO it was because they were hoping that we'd somehow stuff it up and get a win in the last game.

Hicksy has released his phantom draft. I hate it.

I dont know, I liked it early, Lalor & Smith (for some BF board melts) and then Smillie at 14 is a bargain pick.

Not sure about all those talls though lol looked like he was running out of names to pick.

This draft is gunna be a bust.

Pretty good. Seems likely we’ll end up with 2 of FOS, Lalor, Smith regardless if North splits their pick. Perhaps the players we drafted with our later picks are too tall, would much rather Berry or Hotton at 13 instead of reaching for Shannahan.
So, we allow Sam Davidson to walk? To Geelong of all clubs! FFS.
