I think this is close, but I'd push for Saints 7 + 32 for 11 + 20
Pick 20 is too much to give away for a 4 pick upgrade in this draft, I'd want 32 back so we can still pick up someone who slips

1 - Lalor
2 - FOS
6 - Smillie
13 - Lindsay
23 - KPF
24 - Trade for 2025 1st Round
29 & 32 - see who slips
And get Norf's F2 along with pick 2 for 7 + 18

Nope, nah, don't agree whatsoever. But that's ok, we all have our wish lists.

But what is this Bull Shit about a "general forward?" There's no such thing! Maybe you're still living in the time when we had Ben Lennon, not a 2nd or 3rd tall, not a high HF, not a pressure forward.

Bauer projects as a 2nd or 3rd tall KPF.
Instead of using small/medium forward I use the term General Forward which is any forward that isn't a KPF. Bauer IMO is the forward line equivalent to Broad down back.
Strong first post. Let's keep this guy 😁
Who do we trade out?
Morro or tiger_tough
It’s as much to do with how someone plays, not their height. Rampe (187cm) plays more like a KPD than Blakey (196cm) does.

Sicily (188cm) is more of a KPP than Weddle (191cm). Sicily has played on Tom Lynch many times … I can’t imagine Weddle ever lining up on Lynch.

So Bauer being 192cm doesn’t settle arguments either way. It’ll come to light as he gets more games whether he plays like a KPP, or plays like a ‘3rd tall / flanker’. His height won’t be the deciding factor.

I don't see Bauer as a KPF watching him play at VFL level and nothing he has shown at senior level changes that opinion.

Never really rated the medium forwards, seem redundant when a small can play taller

1. Lalor
7. Langford
13. Travaglia
14. Armstrong
21. Jack Whitlock
24. Luke Trainor
27. Tom Gross
28. Harrison Oliver

Is FOS fast? Draper is, maybe Jagga. Looking further down the list there is some quality outside speed especially Hotton and Lindsay. They become extra important if we do go big/slow at the top
I reckon FOS’s speed comes from his decision making and ball movement which is why I’m big on him. Things happen when he gets it and his kicks are generally penetrating and get to the target quicker - some great examples in noobermench’s latest package.
100% his year was underwhelming but I reiterate that no one will give a shit about who was 2024’s best u/18 player in 5 years and I still rate him #1 for needs and transferable AFL traits.
We all see it differently tho…

Is this phantom finished or you posting incomplete ones again?

It’s worse, just a rando WCE trying to be an afl podcaster, who has previously stated they haven’t watched any of the underage stuff.

Actually that’s right up RTs alley ;)

Not overly keen to include 10 or 11 in a Saints trade. Don't see much point in them doing it if we don't.
Pick 7 for 11? Would probably cost us pick 23.

Bit of chat earlier about the Saints being keen on Lindsay, is he a possibility for us?

I see him as the highest rated player of that 2nd tier which begins at 7.

It doesn’t make much sense to go from 10 to 8 unless we are desperate for Reid??

Lalor, Smillie and Reid. I’d be happy with that midfield.

For clarity this video is based on all current picks staying the same (no swaps).

For interest sake this one has Langford v Smillie for pick 7. Would be interested in who the preference is for on this thread?
Maybe Smillie from my perspective but similar to FOS v Lalor I wouldn’t mind either way.

From mock drafts it appears there will be a lot of KPP talent still on the board from 18-30 and some inside mids.

Based on that I’m kind of thinking hold 1, 6, 10 & 11 and pick up 3 mids and ideally Armstrong at 10 or 11.

There will be very good offers thrown at us for the remaining picks and it could be a case where we slid a few spots and pick up other teams F2’s or even better and still get the same calibre of talent that we are looking for in this bracket.

Edit:

For eg is there much difference between Whitlock, Faull, Sims and Gerreyn as KPFs?

Much difference between Hynes, Gross and Moraes as inside mids?

Hannaford, Alger, Davis and Dattoli as small forwards?

From the outside it appears that it’s so even you could be onto a winner with any of those guys.

Thinking maybe if it was for Langford, Smillie or Jagga. For Lindsay or Reid I'd probably rather just hold or offer 18 & 20

Good comments, also interesting that Trainor is taken so late. I hope we do due diligence
