Im sure we have 2-4 KPF that we rate on our board and we will stick to our rankings on their spots
Our priority this draft will be our midfield and im thinking we will go 4-2 or 5-1 and trade out 2 selections either to move into F1 selections we rate as being top 6/7 next year or 1 into next year and 1 to move up this draft for a player we rate

It is one reason why Travaglia now shapes as a top-15 draft prospect, who has been linked to clubs including Richmond, West Coast and Fremantle.

He is one I hope we avoid

Agree, Smillie can kick, I’ll have him. Who cares if he doesn’t take pack marks? His in the midfield, it’s not in top five of what we need from a mid. For years squealing for a big bodied mid, here he is, his disposal is class.

I’d like lalor, smilie and reid with first 3 picks

Reading through this thread about 50% of your fellow Tiger supporters agree with me.

Not sure where the anger is coming from.

Just pointing out Draper or Fos better than Langford or Smile.

Would be a waste for Tigers not to take the best two mids when you have the capital to do so.

Essendon could be a major trading partner for Richmond to deal with imo
If the Kako bid comes after #9 this could be a blessing for both clubs

#28 + #31 for Richmond F2 with the agreement to trade #18 for Bombers F1 after the kako bid
Our F2 is worth more than that. Likely to be the first pick in night 2 next year.

You've cherry picked our Ruck "success" trades. Maric and Simmons both had 1 great year and 2 ok years. Stafford had 2 or 3 good years. Nank 3 - 4 sevicable to good years. In the previous 30 years we've traded and cheaply drafted in 5 x as many rucks who were busts. Hampson cost 2 x 2nd rounders and I don't think he played 1 decent game.

We've got the perfect draft hand to fill every line. For so many years we've only had 1 top 25 pick so we always took a mid or bloody hbf. If we take a Dodson with one of our last picks he gets a perfect run up of 3 years development in the magoos while Nank deteriorates and Samson's contract evaporates. In that time him and our incoming batch of mids will develop beautiful synchronicity where they can read each other and know what each other's thinking instinctively. It's about time we paid the price and developed a 10 + year ruck instead of taking dregs. I'm sick of watching Nank get outrucked by any and every ruck.

We deserve to see our mids get 1st use for a change. I dare you to watch that 2022 final against Brisbane when Mcinerny went down and an unopposed Nank still kept tapping it down Lachie Neales throat. For too many years our mids have watched blokes like Fyfe, Oliver, Pendlebury, etc. run past their ruck and without breaking stride have it land in their laps. No more budget Naismiths, Knobels, Graham, Browne, Derrickx, Orrin Stephenson, Marsh. We've got 8 picks.... 1 must be used on Ruck. We can afford to skimp on hbf for once.

As a matter of interest, who are the HBF’s we’ve taken with our top-25 picks in the last decade or more?

We did that last year. Fawcett. Do you want 2 CHF in the team
We have Bauer who will be a very good third tall. Lefau showed very good signs leading from the square. The club are excited about Gray. Kosi is pretty solid. Lynch is still there too. I’d say the midfield is where the game is usually won is the area we need to smash in the draft
We have lots of 195 mobile forwards but we need a 200cm bull to replace Lynch. I suspect that they have given up on Ryan as a forward. The three year contract to Ryan maybe because they are giving him time to become Nanks replacement.

The one thing I have done for this upcoming draft and recent drafts is to not get excited or attached to any particular player. And the reason for that is because Richmond always see things differently to all the opinion noise. We always take players random and unexpectedly based on our system, standards and data comparisons. These comparisons based on current successful AFL players among other metrics which none of us Bigfooty fans have access to. Nor do the so called experts. The big lesson is to not get excited until the night....

Not in a crap draft next year

Its a compromised draft thats not deep from reports and everybody wants out
I reckon there is someone who slides to night 2 that generates interest. Not going to trade in picks for our future picks as already have one too many. There are 8 picks but can only select a maximum of 7 players. (Committed to Colina as a Cat A rookie).

How can you possibly rule Fawcett and Gray in or out who haven’t even played enough VFL to gauge their potential?
I don't think we can rebuild a premiership side around a pick 42 and a pick 16 in the rookie draft. Only an idiot would think we've got enough to work with in our tall forwards with what's on the list
