Hes impressed me the most - Im just a mug punter and dont put in the time some of the more distinguished campaigners on this board do, but i'll ssay it again- he's very impressive, he seems to be the only genuine real burst away mid in this draft, none of the others seem to have it.

yeah that was a huge point of difference I feel as well, and the ability to still crack into the contest too!

Probably gotta get it in our head that Lalor will be our first pick. It’s happening.

Looks the goods.

I don’t think he has the Dusty raw power, still looks very strong.

Right foot kick is a beauty, definitely Dusty like.

Has a leap and jumps into the pack. Rayner/Petracca like.

Explosiveness out of the centre like a Degoey.

Plays mean and looks like he is a solid character.

I have been a big Jagga fan all along, still would love to snag him. Though Lalor is a match winner. Powerful big bodied mids are always hard to find, and to draft one as the centre piece of a rebuild is too good to pass up.

If not FOS at 1 then I'm happy with Lalor
If we don't trade for 2, I'd take Smilie at 6 but if he is gone then I'd take Jagga. I assume one of them will be available.
Pick 10 - Harry Armstrong if still there, if not, Hotton
Pick 11 - Hotton or Bo Allen
Pick 18 - Xavier Lindsay/Cooper Hynes - if they aren't there maybe Shanahan if we didn't take Armstrong
Pick 20 - Hynes/Hannaford/Dattoli
Pick 23 - Faull or trade for F1
Pick 24 - Trade for F1

We have 8 picks at the moment. We need to at least trade 1 of them for a future pick or we won't have a pick in the rookie draft to take Colina.

What I'm asking is, if we did 10 for 13 and 29, our total pick hand becomes... 1 6 11 13 18 20 23 24 29. That's 9 picks. Because we only have 8 list spots, does 29 immediately disappear and become unrecoverable at that point? Or does it become unusable UNTIL we trade out an earlier pick?

Not if you do the trade once the draft commences. However we can only take the 8 picks and would need to trade a pick or two for earlier picks or into 2025.

Yep, and I think people actually need to have some faith in the fact that Blair has been doing this for many years, and might know a thing or two about managing a list and requirements on draft night!!!!

We could always pick Colina in the RFC reserves and help him out, no other club will pick him up. Then recruit him later if need be

I’m with you on this one. We are expected to except his 2023 form. If he was chosen on his output in 2024(the actual games that he played) he’d be lucky to get drafted. The guy does not get enough possession. He may have hurt factor but very little disposals to do it with. I watched him in 3 games live and his clearance work midfield is non existent. He’s an outside player/HFF. I know I’m going to get lambasted for this but I hope he’s a pass in the top 1 & 6 picks.

Will be an A grader - absolute plug n play banker along with Jagga. Lalor, FOS, Smillie, Reid, Tauru, Langford are all risky but potentially higher ceilings. I feel like we need at least one banker.

Exactly what I pointed out on this thread over a week ago and got laughed at.

Tigers would be mad not to pick him and that is why tigers should go the one two punch with Lalor and Draper.

I like the Hawkins (stay at home fwd & fwd ruck) - Simms has the body shape & height to become that.(pick 23)
Then mobile fwd that can lead up & present Armstrong (at pick 10 or 11) or Faull (pick 18)

I think we will only pickup 1 KPF this year and then we will trade out 1/2 picks for future 1sts of which we will use on either a KPF next years draft or for the reported Cadman interest.

Apparently the talk is talls in next years draft look pretty good and maybe greater ceiling than this year (lot can change in 12 mths though)

Think that's what could really shape our future.
Get it right and we're on our way.

I just see too many strings to the bow of Lalor to be a bust. Not saying he’s a certain superstar, but will be a very good player. Great mark, great kick. Tackling pressure, mongrel. At very worst he’s a great HFF
