I still think we should just do 6 and 18/20/23 for 2 and take the risk out of it come draft night.
I've maintained this all the way through.

I understand there is similar quality within the range of picks 5 through 8 but why not just pick the two players we actually want at 1 and 2?

North still have list spots they need to fill, outside of the two active picks they currently hold. Something has got to give come draft night and I'd be surprised if it didn't include us.
Blair knows what he’s doing, wait and see what happens on the night I guess but we seem to be their best option to trade down pick 2

If we did something unexpected like drafting smillie at pick 1 would that somehow increase the chance of fos slipping to pick 6

What would be the point in that if we could just take FOS at 1 and then Smilie at 6 anyway?

Because then we lose a draft pick in a superdraft and the top 7 mids are the same standard anyway.

6 + 18 for lolnorfs 2 + F1 or Gagf

Or we chuck in 29 too if we trade 11 for ports 13 + 29

I’d be happy with that
Can't see a trade being done. Richmond says no to 6 +11 for 2 +F1 because pick 11 is more valuable than F1.

North don't want to trade down to 10 because they have a high risk of missing Tauru and can trade their F1 to GWS earlier than pick 18.

Port won't trade up until they know who is available at pick 11.

Would seem that as interest grows in players his rankings adjust. The Phantom next week is the big one though
Yeah but why would clubs interest in players change Twomeys rankings? That should only be taken into account for his phantom draft next week.

Anyway, whogivesashit.gif

Let's hope so, I want to make North use pick 2. Don't care who they get.

Don’t think it’s quite that simple

Maybe similar standard of player but all players that play very differently and have very different attributes

These are the kids we will be building our entire clubs future around so it’s an opportunity to shape our midfield and essentially gameplan around what we want it to look like

Even Lalor and FOS who are both “mid - fwd” options have very different strengths and weaknesses when it comes to how they play with Lalor in the Dedoey/ Dusty mould and FOS more Heeney like

Yes but a lot of people are struggling to understand that there's no obvious ranking for that first group of mids. People like to see a definitive ranking but this year there isn't.
Clubs will pick best available with the first 6 picks, they are not picking for specific attributes I don't think and it's a subjective decision.

What (we nuffies see and read) is very different to what is said inside the clubs

Just because we don’t have a clear ranking doesn’t mean they don’t

Oh really? I had no idea. This is my first time visiting this thread since it's inception and I'm sure you are the first person who has raised these salient points as well.

My sincere apologies.
