Especially with the comp moving away from the contested style of game. Look how garbage Matt Rowell looks these days.

At least Vines sets a great example for the younger group though. I would've said 2027, but whatever. He'll be good for the Casey lads by then because he still won't give an inch.
Problem is that if (god forbid) Goodwin is still coach by then, there is nearly zero chance he'll be playing at Casey.

Looks like we're going to absolutely ride this group into the ground, when our midfield already looks extremely slow compared to the rest of the comp.

What's particularly worrying is that Trac is the only one of those that can play another position. So we're either going to be trotting out dad's army in the middle, or paying some guys a lot of money to play at Casey.

I can see Mcvee developing in the midfield (can kick accurately and is quick) in the future but yes really need to find one or two in this draft.

It's pretty clear that we got spooked by the North offer and have opted for 'stability' and 'loyalty' in a time of near-crisis.

Clear as day from the start what he, his manager and probably Todd were doing. We're just dumb enough to fall for it.

I think Lamb is just super lazy and just takes easiest option he can, every time.

Longer contracts = less effort renewing every time.

Don’t think I have once seen him take an option which would mean more effort/work for him. (Except trading 3 picks to move up 2 slots in 2023 draft).

The Viney deal has Ben Brown written all over it, spend the final year (or two) old and broken playing at Casey, dont worry we'll give you two years longer than we should coz we like you. Thats fine, so long as you realise we arent competing and have become a meme club who just wants to reward 2021 premiership heroes instead of aiming for a new premiership.

That flag was simultaneously the best and worst thing that has happened to this club, lol.

Ok that's it. I'm pretty sure I said it to either Mich0 or Crusty Demon that I would official join the Tim Lamb reverse fan club of they did a stupid extension for Viney.

Choo Choo here I come!
If we have another mediocre trade period, I might join the party too.

They outdid what I thought was already stupid by an extra year, hurry up and announce TMac has signed on for 2 more years

Scared stiff of a 2 year TMac deal to go with Viney's 2 year extension. #demonspirit

Only way this makes sense is if Trac is going and we plan on bringing in another young core which will need leadership around for a while

The other potential rationale here is that we already know we won't have much coming in the door this offseason, so are front-loading the bejesus out of Gawn and Viney's deals to eat up some of the cap space we have for next year.

Suppose we'll never really know. He was already signed for next year though, so there was really no rush.

Nah were sending Oliver to the Russian Alps for a Rocky IV training montage

Oliver is more likely to gorge himself Pelminis' Blinni, Kvass, Salat Olivierre and way too much Borscht and Vodka

This is like watching a slow-motion train crash of list management.

Watch these blokes all retire and we fall off a cliff as Tassie comes in and we sit on the bottom for a decade.

Or worse, we bottom out earlier and have to keep paying these blokes to sit in rehab preventing us from topping up.

Rivers and McVee midfield minutes 👋
