The lady on the afl coverage said this too. I don't understand, if 7 players are off contract at the same time, what's so hard about negotiating with the 7? Our managers are full time right? So just a matter of giving them the value they think they deserve which applies if it's 1 contract or 10?

Overall review of night 1
The only pick I was iffy on was Trainor but after his reaction and interview he won me over. The concussion issues are a concern though.

Faull was a reach but I'd prefer us being bold and getting the player we want rather than risk him getting taken elsewhere. Especially considering the back half of that first round was all over the place.

Hotton I'm absolutely over the moon about. That one selection made my night.
The first two we got seemed like a fait accompli but getting Armstrong at 23 was unbelievable. So many mocks had him going between 8 and 15.

The trade with North was just the cherry on top really.

Weird, I expected Armstrong at 14 and Faull at 23, not the other way around.

Remember faull was very highly rated at start of the year. Then he got injured and he slipped down the order

Its a massive worry

We don’t need them to be up and firing in 2025 or even 2026. If they are all injury riddled in three years time onwards then that’s just sheer bad luck.

Selwood fell to 7 because of a knee injury. Judd fell to 3 due to dodgy shoulders. Cotchin came into our club with Achilles problems and played 15/10/17 in first three years .. then barely missed a game from 2011 to 2018.

I’m not worried in the slightest.
