Cats would be a chance to offer pick 42 + f1 for our pick 28 if they have their eye on a particular player.
Port like to trade up. If they have their eye on a player 33 & 38 could be on the table.
So many possibilities, but we are the house. We will possibly get better offers than the above. It will come down to whether we fancy any of the rated players still remaining, or whether we prefer to rule off the ledger on this draft and try to get a 3rd rd 1 pick in 2025. We clearly aren't burning for any of the remaining players this year or we wouldn't have traded pick 27 out.

We could trade 28 for Essendon's 37 and 39 and pick a player at 37 and trade for a future second with pick 39.

What do you mean by the bolded part? You can't trade for players at this point.
We will get offers. If Cats give us the best offer and we rate the offer higher than any player we could pick then surely you are taking the offer?

Played as a forward for his school Brighton Grammar. Does look like though his best position is as a third tall defender.
Would see him as the long-term replacement for Nick Vlastuin.

Blair - Trying to pick a premiership team
Blair said there are some pretty good players still to be taken, so any deal I expect would need to include us taking at least one more player in this draft. I would not be utterly shocked if we split the pick & take 2 more players this year yet. But another rd 1 pick next year will be very tempting.

Blair is a genius and needs to be made a Director and kept at this club forever. What he did over this offseason was extraordinary.
Lalor - Top pick rated all year
Smilie - top pick for half a year
Hotton - top 5 pick before injury
Trainor - top 5 pick before rumours of injury
Armstrong - top 10 pick rated at back end
Faull - we loved him all year. Was always gonna be the KF we didn’t want to leave. Competitive beast.

You pretty much summed up my sentiments. Wow landing the bloke likened to Dusty, plus the bloke likened to Cripps who was no. 1 rated only a few months ago. Trainor high risk/ high reward (maybe we make him wear a helmet?) Hotton likened to Shai will soften the loss. Always wanted one of Shanahan/ Armstrong so was freaking out when Jonty was read out.
Spewing we didn't get Lindsay but that happens. I'm betting trade offers will be insane and eclipse the Whitlock pick swap once the bidding war happens, especially with the Bummers having involvement with Shanahan and 2 x 1st rounders, . Failing that no reason can't take either Shanahan or Whitlock and let the cream rise to the top. We could sort out the next 10 - 15 years of KP in one draft. Could stockpile them and by the end of 2027 the club will know who to build the spine around. Whoever is the lesser performed, (so long as they're playing well in VFL) could be traded out for a pick 10 - 15. I'm sure Tassie would cough up a top 10 easily for a ready made KPF starved of opportunities.
Wonder if Saints would trade 32, 51 and F2 for pick 28? They desperately need a KPF and we could get Dodson and Davidson and a future pick!
Round 23 against North might be epic. Would love to knock them off so they finish last and we get their pick 1 off them

Essendon were heavily linked to Shanahan all year - him being on the board still is incredible for us. I really hope we offer pick 28 (throw in F3 if needed) for their F1 and 37. Could take Algar at 37 + likely a top 10 pick next year. Imagine doing this all again with 3 top 10 picks next year.

I laughed. Absolute campaigner of a bloke.We knew we were getting Lalor and Smillie and very happy with them. Big bulls with great hands and skills who kick goals and tackle hard. Big tick.
Hotton: Love this pick. We needed pace and there wasn't much of it on offer. We got one of the three quickest kids and the bonus is he can really play.
Faull: We took the full five minutes with this pick which to me means we were on the phone, trying to trade down I'd say as we could have got him later. But no one bit so we took him there. I was thinking Berry or Allan at this pick but clearly Faull was our #1 tall and we didn't think he'd be there at 18. He's tough and macho. A bit like JVR but we won't make stupid noises and he'll get it more than six times a game.
Trainor: I'm not a huge fan but he's talented and skillful. Not a KPP - Vlastuin/Dog Stewart role. I'm okay with it.
Armstrong: Value where we got him. Good complement to Faull. Kicks goals even when he's quiet.
Fleeced Norf for pick 4 next year.
I think we had a good night. Brought in some future pillars. Maybe one tall too many but if we can somehow turn pick 28 into another future pick plus a pick that gets us Alger, happy days.
P.S. I'd ask how you think we went but
