Got Sexton last week which helps. Think I will hold off on Fisher until post bye now.

Thinking either a bench clean up and Will Day in as he has that Rd 15 bye + the team formerly known as Richmond Rd 14...OR...switch Xerri to Marshall and watch him revert to 60s again.

Liking this. Gets rid of a tanking value rook and gets in a new mid. Unfortunately didn’t have enough to get Day with Howes, but Uwland is doing decently enough at D6 at the moment so can go one more weeks before upgrading him and Howes

All rookies out of the midfield and is the first section “complete”

Clohesy or reid to go.. not sure who to bring in though, richards looks value at that role and 3 in a row at marvel

My 3 options currently for the week.. Going to hold Reid again most likely as his BE is way lower than Fyfe's. Which way we leaning?

1st trade is basically just getting rid of high BE guys. $100k left over

2nd trade gets me to a Whitfield instead of Sexton, but will keep Graham if he plays this week. Means i keep Lazzaro with a high BE and miss out on Richards. $41k left over

3rd trade im not really liking, this would only happen if Graham plays. Means i keep Lazzaro aswell and miss out on Richards. 20k left over.

I usually finish midfield last because you can get stuck with who to upgrade.

The only thing stopping me from getting rid of Fyfe is his bye. If he can avoid the vest for 2 more weeks he’ll be gone.

Imagine telling someone at the start of the year that Riley Bonner would be worth more than both Tom Green and Clayton Oliver

Oh I agree but I’m this unique position with the other lines that it’s hard to gauge who to upgrade there

Have Naicos, Young, Whit, Clark and Richards running the defence line nicely, Uwland at D6 so no need to upgrade or change them

Forward line is a crapshoot, the forwards I want I can’t afford and the ones I can afford I don’t want. Although I am considering Caldwell depending on how long that calf keeps Parish out + they have the Tigs

So it’s down to either Caldwell or Day in I reckon

Yeah i do want to keep him purely because of his bye but his BE is 93 so hes losing money and his scoring hasn't been the greatest and is a sub risk.
Can’t see him being rested for a big home game against the Pies, but I must admit away to Melbourne has sub written all over it.

If his days as the sub are behind him (still questionable), David Swallow could be a good bench player at 340k

Trades this week are pretty simple:
Fyfe > Fisher (keep through byes)
Wilson > Sexton (cash grab, trade out @ Rnd 14).

Currently sitting in 27th overall, blessed position, absolutely stoked. My conundrum is that I don't have Zorko and don't want to bring him in as (a) he's too expensive and (b) holding off is valuable point of difference against the other top teams.

BUT I don't know how I can navigate the byes without bringing him in. I have Flanders, Heeney and (now) Fisher who I'm planning to keep through the byes. But I also have:

  • Macrae (absolute campaigner)
  • Baker (might get CBAs, but can anyone score well in such a shit team?)
  • Sexton (stinks of a Fiorini/Ratkins situation, when has a GC halfback ever NOT been a trap?)

There are two options to trade them to who I think could be good options for the rest of the year (Miers, Caldwell), but both are Rnd 14 byes, so WTF do I do with Sexton @ Rnd 14? Do I really want to hold Macrae until Rnd 14, he is a sub/dropped to VFL/shit score waiting to happen in his current role.

Sorry for the essay. In summary - I am extremely fortunate to be in the position I'm in, but Zorko is haunting my nightmares. Even worse that I'm a Brissy fan, good fukn lord save me. Any thoughts on the conundrum would be appreciated, might just need to bite the bullet and bring him in after his bye

Also to whoever it was that I tried to talk out of bringing in Ed Richards and Jack Crisp in the Trade thread last week, I'm so sorry 😂

I can't keep staring at Jack Macrae in my forward line, just like I happily moved on Powell last week (for Fisher, so very happy with that).

At this stage it looks like: -

Macrae > Sexton
Wilson > Butters

J Clark > McAuliffe/other rookie
Sweet > Sexton

Takes a rookie off field. I’ll see if Sweet is named.

Waiting for Fish after the bye now, pretty happy with this. Possible 3 downgrades next week and grab Fish and Green post bye

If only I could turn back time and not be sucked into the allure of cash generation from Sweet!

Went Xerri > Sweet two weeks back. Copped the donut, then down to Visentini pre-Rd 10. Couldn't justify the $400k difference between him and Meek for 40-odd points.

Now I have a week of biting my fingernails in the hope that Sweet doesn't get selected and Visentini makes it to the bye.

That one decision has left my team unable to really advance in getting rookies off the field over the past fortnight (and worried that I need an exit strategy for Visentini).

Thinking the following:
Zilliams > Fisher (via utility putting Fisher in FOR)
Burgess > McAuliffe (via utility)

Leaves me with this team post-trades:

Definitely, got a decent chunk of CBAs when he wasn’t there IIRC

Excellent. Fits my bye structure well too.

Means holding guys like Powell and Jones but needs must. Hoping Graham's back.

I’ve basically narrowed down my second trade to three different scenarios

Grundy to RoMa (pretty much finishes the rucks and helps with loops as both Grundy and English play on Thu)

Clohesy to Day (gets a rookie off field, although my hand may be forced if Dimma rests him this week )

a FWD to Caldwell
