Problem is.. he’s still a great pickup even if he averages 75 from here. But next week the boats been missed at that average.
Cash gen wise perhaps. Not in an on field position in the midfield.
If he did avg 75, I think I’d prefer Billings and Fyfe around that price as they are more valuable on field.

Saying that, he’ll probably be fine and ton up this week.

Doesn't bode well. Just went back and checked and Collard was named second on the bench last week and was sub...as a Bonner owner I'm hoping he can dodge the vest.

Potentially Jones/Byrnes starts sub and Sinclair in the middle?
Every chance that Sinclair is eased back into things as sub ?

Yeah could be that too. Or could just be a random name on field that gets plucked as sub. Such a sh*t rule. Just have 5 on the interchange and leave it to coaches discretion how they are employed.

Struggling to think of a single decision that has been made at AFL house over the off-season that has benefited fantasy players.

Trade 1: Gibcus > Dempsey locked.

Trade 2:
  • Newcombe > Billings/Crouch
  • Fischer > Billings.

Newcombe had the high CBAs just couldnt convert to fantasy points. I just have no idea about Fischer, but very close to the drop punt stage.

Fwds are slim pickings outside of Heeney/Flanders, so Billings could slot into that F3/4 role. Crouch is underpriced, best performing Crow mid so far (good M8 til season end). What scared me off initially was inclusion of Berry. Proved not to impact Crouch's role.

Not sure which one is the priority. hmm...

What’s everyone thoughts
Wines > Crouch
C Mackenzie > Dempsey (Lazaro comes on field)
Or
Wines > Fyfe
C Mackenzie > D’Ambrosio via DPP

Will miss the Crouch train if I go the second option…
However it’s best 18 for the next couple weeks so is cash gen (Dempsey) best option for now and to focus more on players to get big points (crouch)

If going with trade A, you just need to consider who'll be on your Def bench after the early byes, as presumably you had Z Reid on the bench and you're trading him to Massimo who's on field.
Will likely take on another def rookie when one is named/shows some life, and either move/replace Yeo in the mids after byes are done

Hmmm...decision time.

The only certainty for me is Gibcus out.

He's in my utility spot so I guess I can pick the best of the 'missed' rookies as his replacement.

Dempsey or Jeremy Sharp the options; any thoughts on who is the better option?

Coffield, Jhye Clark can also be moved on if there's a good option but I'm not seeing one at the moment so I probably hold them.

Not jumping off Grundy. 1 good game followed by 1 poor game so I am not panicking.

If I'm playing the B/E game then Dawson is a worry; 89 isn't terrible but with a B/E of 140 he's likely to lose a bit of $ over the next few weeks.

So, thinking...

OUT: Gibcus
IN: Dempsey/Sharp

On closer inspection, with a bit of positional tweaking I can do...

OUT: Gibcus, Clark
IN: Dempsey, Sharp

I'd usually give Clark another week but I think there's too much money to potentially be made with Sharp and Dempsey to worry about that, and I didn't see enough good signs out of Clark to be at all confident he can do similarly.

I burn a bit of the $ I had left spare but I think it's more important to jump on the right cheaper options at this point in time, than have a lot of $ left over.

I'd like to move Dean on but there's no obvious replacement for him at the moment, and I don't have a DEF/MID dual position to move him on for Sharp.

Thoughts? Am I missing something obvious?

Nope, these are are great trades. Also bringing in Clark + Dempsey, cash generation is key.

Mid-pricers can wait and the extra week helps decides who's best to jump on.

Cheers for the reply. I like your thinking. Right now I only have Gawn and Howes with the round 6 bye, while I have Heeney, Roberts, Grundy, Daicos round 5. So your move would also even them up. I think you’ve swayed me. If billing’s spuds up now I can blame you, which relives some stress 😂
I'm sure I heard tigs2010 whisper it earlier on - he's good to blame for everything - just ask Zevon! (miss you TedDougChris )

;)

Anyone could, but particularly a rookie forward I would have thought.
At BE -10, that could at least soften the blow compared to the alternatives at the money at the moment. ;)

Nah, a player like him is at least managed time on the bench but playing through the game. Might sub off maybe, but he'll be starting.

Going Jhye Clark out, any insight into Sharp vs Dempsey?

other trade is Wines to Billings with the goal of Budarick to Sheez next week

Weve been doing some fine spud farming

If you have Bonner it is a wait and see if you need to trade him out

If you don't have him it is a wait and see if you should trade him in.
I'll wait and see how your options turn out 🤪
