I predicted we'd pick up luke lloyd 2 months ago.

Luke Lloyd - SNAPSHOT: “Very much a link up centre half-forward, Luke Lloyd consistently works up the ground to act as a release option for his teammates, but is just as damaging when playing closer to goal.”


After a delayed start to the season due to injury, Luke Lloyd was quick to make up for lost time when he finally made it into the Sandringham Dragons side in Round 7. He started out with a bang, booting three goals and clunking five marks in a loss to Murray Bushrangers.

That form carried on to the end of the season, as Lloyd registered multiple scoring shots in all 11 of his Coates Talent League appearances. In the end, he would also be part of the Dragons’ premiership team and earned a National Draft Combine invite despite missing out on Vic Metro honours.

Lloyd was still given an opportunity to show his wares at a higher level, turning out for Frankston in the VFL in Rounds 18 and 19, taking eight marks across two games as a tall forward. Though, arguably the forward’s most fabled feat this year was his 19-goal game for school side De La Salle.

If there’s one thing we all learnt this year it’s that the game is moving towards having more Jack Gunston types.

In all seriousness, picking this late in the draft is very hit and miss. Let’s hope we can get at least 1 of our picks to become a consistent player in the team. I’d see that as a win given where our picks fell.

Very interesting, the knock on both is not very fast and athletic, both said to have very good "footy IQ" though.

The 2 grand finalists... Pies go pace, we go 3rd tall slower types.... could of just kept Jack Gunston.

We might be thinking of playing one at either end, at least at reserves level. I like the idea of the mid size types, just hoped they would be super athletic as well.
