This post had me thinking, mainly about the forward line. The loss of Marshall does bring clarity to the situation, as sad as it is for the man. We have basically lost two injury prone key forwards and signed a fresh one, so the outlook is far more positive in terms of putting a team on paper and seeing it out there and watching it develop.
Are we in for the trio of Lord, Greek and New Guy? With Ratugolea and Finlayson rotating in and around? Or will there be mad curveballs like using McEntee and SPP as false KPPs and everyone else is crumbing?

Its gone backwards. A lot.
Not quite nothing. For instance, Jordan Sweet trained with us in his draft year and impressed with his work ethic and character. Five years later9, we trade for him.
Terrible news for Toddy however in terms of team balance up forward, I think it’s for the best.
We need a second ruck option up there and playing all of Luko, Georgi and Marshall severely limits that. We can’t play those 3 and another tall up forward.
At least it allows us the option of having one of Soldo, Lord or Finlayson who can hopefully provide enough of a chop out while being effective as a forward as well.
I think Fin gets first dibs however needs pressure applied and if his kicking continues to be sub par, we can’t be carrying him again.

The majority of players drafted are drafted for their athletic potential first and football skills second. In addition, players are getting taller which means greater distance from hand to foot which increases the difficulty of skill execution by foot.
The argument about greater congestion causing greater pressure which makes it 'look' like skills are bad has some merit, but it doesn't explain everything. For instance, set shot goal kicking is worse than ever when it is a very, very simple skill to repeat again and again in practice and then execute under game conditions. But the sports science people know better so we don't practice and just miss dozens of shots every week instead (I don't buy the fatigue excuse, players miss easy shots from the start of the game).

Anyone going to be able to make it to training tomorrow? Saw we have an open session. Our pre seasons always seem to be so short of info compared to other teams which is unfortunate when the club doesn’t seem to have many open sessions.

He's a break glass in case of emergency player at this point. On fück all money as well.
Wouldn't be surprised if this is his final year at the Club, though he's handy depth.
I question his head space more than anything, there's guys with less ability that achieve far more in the game.

Finlayson gets back to that 2023 form where he had a patch where he was averaging 4.1 shots per game, then he's got value.
His goalkicking though is atrocious. If I see him line up a snap shot from 45m again, I'll lose my ****ing mind.

He should be playing SANFL all season.
People still think he is a viable 2nd ruck option at AFL level which is laughable. He is non competitive at centre bounces and does not work hard enough from contest to contest.
Along with his poor body language means he should not be anywhere near the AFL side.

Bergman a defender, same with esava
Did seem like less kicking to 2nd square when kicking into i50 in match sim
Both Watkins and Lai showed something whilst also showing why they're not on any afl list
Whitlock doesn't look like a westhoff 07 take, got a bit of meat on him
I reckon L Jones to replace the Houston role

Moraes caught my eye more than Berry
Was doing more chatting than watching anyhow
