According to Bruzzy last time he had post-season shoulder surgery the Pies won a flag.

God we are so cursed !!!!!!!
We’ve just seen the back of the first scheduled 27 match season only to find out one of our two surgeries, yes just two, is Maynard who quite clearly needed his as early as the mid season bye yet we’re so cursed? FMD two off season surgeries would be about as healthy as any club has ever kicked off their premiership defence!

Think we had three? Cox and Elliott both had shoulder surgery I believe.

Edit: four if you count Pendles getting corrective nose surgery

This is new. We're getting an injury report tomorrow. It took pulling an arm and leg to get them to release one last year, and that wasnt til post christmas when Fin was MIA and Kreuger was seen in a sling

"The Magpies had been expected to release a detailed injury report on Monday evening. But that will now be published on Tuesday."

Vice-Captain Brayden Maynard underwent shoulder stabilisation surgery in the off-season. The defender is expected to return to full training in February following a 12-week recovery period. Maynard had surgery to his opposite shoulder during last year’s off-season.

Forward Jamie Elliott will follow a modified contact-free training plan before the Christmas break, as he regains strength in his shoulder after undergoing minor surgery to repair ligaments. The 31-year-old is expected to return to a full training load in January.

Captain Darcy Moore, Midfielder Nick Daicos, Ruckman Darcy Cameron and Key Forward Dan McStay all had limitations in the early period of the off-season due to various issues they carried in the back end of the season. All four players are expected to return to full training in January and will be carefully managed through December to ensure they are well prepared for the 2024 season.

In a similar fashion to previous years, Scott Pendlebury, Steele Sidebottom and Jeremy Howe are all working through tailored, individual pre-season programs. The trio will complete some training sessions in December before returning to full training in January.

Collingwood’s five + year players will return to training next Monday, December 4.

Further injury updates will be communicated by the Club in mid-January.

Maynard not in full training until February is not great - he will miss most of the pre-season. But the club has had two years of good injury management, so have to trust in the process.

It could be beneficial to allow a proper resting period. He had a huge 2023 campaign that has made him legendary.

Our injury management with Wade has been exceptional. Can't complain too much about how we've handled things. Footy will always have freak injuries or unfortunate kids (Dean, Kelly).

If I'm reading the report correctly he had the same/similar surgery to the other shoulder last year earlier by a couple of weeks. He will be a new man and ready to body slam the next player to enter his path

No mention of Cox.

I don't think it's an issue - unless he has a complication. He'll be training, just no contact in January. I don't think Maynard will forget how to make body contact.
