VFL VFL pre-season 2025 (list changes, updates)

Encouraging to read this thread, after the shocking year we’ve just had in the VFL.

Good to see us being aggressive in changing things up. Fraser moving to another role at the club, together with significant turnover, will at the very least give us a different look next year which hopefully translates into success.

Some more games at Vic Park also wouldn’t go astray.

We signed our 23rd man from last round of 2024 v Lions (Kicked 2 goals) tonight. On his 19th birthday, no less.
Isaiah Markovsky as list spots start to shrink.

I reckon if we sign those that still around from season 2024, plus the new recruits, we are up tp 19 or 20 players.

We have the ability to sign up to 30

I don't think there will be anymore well known players (ex afl players). The others that will fill the list is those training for a spot. From what ive seen of who has been signed (black jumpers) include a lot of last season's players - Mulvogue, Dowling, Macdonald, willis, etc)

The inclusion of the AFL listed players not playing seniors makes it look a bit stronger too.

Yeah. He looked good in those vfl games for us.
Maybe Zane Cochrane is a potential.

I've heard there are only 5 spots left, most players have been signed, even if they haven't been all announced yet. We seem to be getting them drip fed to us.
Post christmas they will have trimmed down the side to the final squad I reckon. They want continuity with knowing who is on the list, rather than having to wait til pre-season games to do the list.

Last session I attended I reckon it was down to 35-40, they had already trimmed a few that week. will be very interesting to see who out of the train ons remain.

Yeah, you prob can't have too many ex afl players that they would be expecting to play, given vfl teams are generally for development.
If we have a healthy list (never guaranteed of course) then there are only a few spots for vfl players.
