I only like AFL and Premier League football.
Collingwood and Liverpool..

I hate every other sport. 😅 including the Olympics.
Haha. I can never understand people who are passionate about a sport, not enjoying/appreciating/interested in most other sports. Always baffled me.

I love the dedication, athleticism, competitiveness of sport in general.

My number one passion is the Collingwood Football Club though.

I just hope that if Josh needs surgery that they put him in now and not at the end of February

It’s likely inflammatory and not structural, otherwise we’d all have heard by now exactly what had been torn or broken.

Thanks Jen. Hoping he plays this year but highly doubt it
I cant see him playing, unless he has some miracle recovery; even that is a lot of pressure to come off a serious injury and expected to perform at the more intense time of the year.

particularly for a man of his size.

I agree he’s really unlikely to play this year. However, you’ve gotta be careful with putting him on the long-term injury list that you’re not eliminating any hope of a 2024 return, as it may be a motivator in his rehab.

Players only need to be on the LTI for 6 weeks before they can be re-instated back onto the Primary List, so putting a player on the LTI list doesn't preclude re-instatement in the same season.

Good point!

It’s an issue he’s been managing for years now apparently. If it was something that required surgery he’d have had it done long ago.

It’s not unusual or sinister to think Pies can hold players back at this time of the year?? We have two month before season starts and it’s a long season

This is media looking desperately for stories - if you watch the news you’d think Victoria is a one team town!

Two months before the season starts! For single sport enthusiasts like me, two more months without football plus the 3 already endured seems an eternity. The pre-season comp should be resurrected, giving us the opportunity to be premiers twice a year rather than just once.

whats your take on Nunez?
As a player? He's our #1 in terms of assists this season and will only get better.
He needs to put away a few more of his chances with scoring.
Pretty confident he will start doing just that.
Love him and our current squad.

They will probably reassess his progress pre MSD and decide if they long term injury list him at that stage

It was interesting reading about the non-surgery ACL repair that was being written up-up when Sam Kerr did hers'. I think it was Merv Cross and his son who had pioneered this method. I lived in Sydney back in 70's and he was was the go-to surgeon for the RL players who had done their knees. Others on here will have a better idea on this and may not have been appropriate for Dan.

Sounds like the recommended return-to-sport time is pretty similar to the traditional method, so not sure you’d tolerate that success rate.

The time frame is exactly the same for both procedures.

And Sam has had the traditional surgery anyway.
