Injury 2024 Injury Thread

Having Walters and Fyfe at their best later in the year is perfect.

Begin the season with some youth (Erasmus and Simpson?) is also perfect.

It's a good way to phase them out without dropping them as such. Compromised pre-season will slow them down.

Well that's not good enough. Our S&C team should know about these injuries before they happen.

Pretty sure Fyfe’s was contact based. The West reported it as a training incident. Sent for scans and found some loose bodies so off he goes. Seems very harsh to blame the organisation for that

He'll be fine. I've had a similar thing done and I was running after about 5 days. They had me walking right after the procedure.

So all very minor compared to the procedure carried out on Darcy.

It's a pretty fine line, one more serious injury to Fyfe or Walters and it's probably curtains.

I know this is a joke but that’s exactly what load management and sports science is about. Predicting injuries before they happen.

My guess is as good as yours whether these injuries could’ve been avoided. I’m going to choose to give Merriman the benefit of the doubt.
