Looks like he didn't play for more than a month. Injury?Had a solid first month, but has fallen off a cliff the last 3 weeks. Absolutely reeks of Troy Menzel.

The best explanation is that our list management team are absolute morons. Thanks for stopping by.
Personally, I think this is evidence of a few things:
1. We've missed out on our primary targets (e.g. Hayward) and are moving onto secondary/tertiary targets. There's a bit of uncertainty about this because there are so many names flying around, and fuzzy links with us (e.g. are we really into Hugh McCluggage?). The club's been quite open about being more aggressive in acquiring players through trades/free agency. I don't love that strategy, but it is what it is.
2. We're having some issues hitting the salary cap floor this year. This is a bit of a bugbear of mine, I think the floor should be lowered. But this would explain the massively front-loaded offer to Yeo.
3. We're confident in the ability of Darren Burgess to rehabilitate Yeo and get him back to something like full fitness.
4. Yeo is pretty much exactly the archetype of midfielder we're after and we sense some "Moneyball" potential if we can get his body right.
5. We're thinking about how to bridge the gap between Crouch/Laird and the next generation of mids, which could include Charlie Edwards, Dan Curtin, plus any guys we draft in the next year or two.
Note this is all fairly speculative – I'm just a guy on the internet!
I come in peace guys to talk about the possible Yeo trade/ offer.
What are your honest opinions on this? From my own perspective - a multi-million dollar contract for a bloke in his 30s with pretty extensive groin injuries is a little bit silly...
I get the feeling that his acquisition wouldnt relate to a flag push; is the intention to train your next generation of mids?
To be honest I have no idea - I dont see what Yeo brings to your side considering he is only likely to be around for a couple of years and will probably never play a complete season due to his extensive groin problems. We've got Laird, Crouch and our captain in the midfield, why would w3 need to recruit him for that purpose?
History would suggest this is the answer. The best explanation is that our list management team are absolute morons.
Please don’t let our next generation of midfielders be trained by Laird to kick the ball higher than it goes long. We've got Laird, Crouch and our captain in the midfield, why would w3 need to recruit him for that purpose?

Dont get me wrong: Yeo's a great footballer when he is fit and firing, but paying the kind of money being bandied around in the media for a 31 year old with his injury history? Thats rolling some dice. As much as I would like to keep him at West Coast I think I would be miffed if my own club matched that offer.
I think this is one of the most accurate assessments of the lay of the land I have seen on these threads. I hope to god that your last sentence is wrong as that literally would just rubber stamp it.Our club sees contending as being in the discussion for 5th to 10th, we've identified midfield as an area of need and Yeo is a midfielder. And we're contending, so bolstering that area is required. He's a free agent, so we're happy to pay over the odds contract wise. We probably think our injury management system will minimise his groin issues too and what's one extra year above market. Look what we did with Sloane. Plus, getting him in will allow them to blow our first rounder on a key back or some other useless piece.
He's played in all 7 VFL rounds Carlton have contested averaging 4.1 Kicks, 4.6 Hb, 2.1 Mks, 0.75 Goals, 2.25 Tackles, 2.12 Marks.Looks like he didn't play for more than a month. Injury?
Newchurch .Then it's a list management failure, particularly with Newchurch and McAdam both leaving.
My point was we didn't bother recruiting another small forward. Instead we keep using our picks in the 40's and 50's on speculative midfielders who we have no interest in playing.Newchurch .
Last sighted playing with the North Adelaide RESERVES and has since disappeared. Such a big loss, particularly to all those who were outraged he wasn’t given AFL games last year.
I just looked through Carlton's VFL stats and didn't see him listed for 5 rounds. He's played in all 7 VFL rounds Carlton have contested averaging 4.1 Kicks, 4.6 Hb, 2.1 Mks, 0.75 Goals, 2.25 Tackles, 2.12 Marks.
Only game he's kicked multiple goals was against Port Melbourne.
ObviouslyI just looked through Carlton's VFL stats and didn't see him listed for 5 rounds.
Maybe I was looking at the wrong stats?
Outside chance at an AFL rookie spot this time I feel even though he's been overlooked in the past, small indigenous forward but can also play small defender, good wheels and agility....a good Pt.Augusta lad too.Does anyone who's seen him play have a view on whether Frank Szekely would be worth a punt at the MSD?
Interesting. I think it's a gap in our list, especially with Rankine seemingly now considered as much of a midfielder as he is a forward.Outside chance at an AFL rookie spot this time I feel even though he's been overlooked in the past, small indigenous forward but can also play small defender, good wheels and agility....a good Pt.Augusta lad too.
We get it, you don’t rate Rachele lol
More, my boy Mac Andrew is going to be a hell of a player ......he was Reid like last weekendWe get it, you don’t rate Rachele lol
Yeah... that's my point.
The one you're arguing against.
Worrell was ready and we wouldn't have known it, had it not been for injury.
3 - Assuming they put the relevant players on the inactive list.So how many spots do we have available for the MSD?
