What’s the locker room sale like?

I’ve never been around for it previously, but in Perth till Sunday.

I may have my baby with me, so don’t really want to faff for overpriced gear. Are the prices good? And do I have to be there at opening and compete for the best stuff?

Get there early, bring a big bag. Grab everything and anything you might possibly have an interest in. Then sit in the corner sorting through it. Seemed the method of most last time I went.

It gets messy and the line is long if you're not super early.

Playing Carlton in gather round, chalk us up for a loss, they turn superhuman against us

I'm shocked we are an Adelaide oval game, thought for sure we would be playing at 11am WST on a gravel oval, on wednesday in regional SA
I'm surprised we graduated to Adelaide Oval also. Though we all know it's because we're playing Carlton

Lol that Richmond and St Kilda got sent to Norwood!

Basically means we only play them once.

I believe last year all gather round matchups there weren't any double ups.

So no one got an advantage against that opponent except for Crows or Power later in the season.

Surprised too.

Norwood would be similar distance from the city centre as Subiaco is to Perth. It actually looked like an ok venue surface-wise for a non AFL ground.

I haven't checked their record but apparently Carlton are average at AO as well.

I think the plan is to provide seating for track watchers, get the ground to a level where it can host AFLW preseason games, and local footy. While also providing better facilities for when the host other community events (pretty sure they’ve done the Cockburn Christmas festival in the past).

They could easily gut the carpark, rotate the oval to face the heritage listed stand, and wipe the current buildings and build a 4 storey admin and gym building, and perhaps install an underground pool /s
Ha ha. You need to go in to town planning. If that gives enough room for a spare oval that sounds perfect.

Plenty of other ovals - spare space in immediate proximity to Fremantle Oval…
Fremantle Park over the roads from the old looney asylum/Arts centre/Old Museum and the grounds at the prison.
Break bread with Souths, co-tenants and be the first AFL club to have club rooms that can be enjoyed by members instead of just the gameday offerings…

I would prefer them to go back to Freo but they couldn't make it work with the council at the time so they took the Cockburn option. Maybe in the future though.

💯 this. The club explored every option but none matched what they could do at Cockburn or the support of Cockburn council.

Maybe in the future though.
No chance.

And what chance there was has been abolished with the state government’s absolutely ******ed decision to build the new monstrosity of police complex right behind south’s admin building.

Had all of the dilapidated east end to build it but no….. they put it right where any future upgrade of freo oval(much needed) is now severely hamstrung
