Weird list
About half that list reads like a list titled 'which player from each club broke out in 2024' tbh.

For example if Treacy has a 'breakout' year in 2025 he's gone from fringe AFL standard to one of the very best KPFs in the competition in two years. Even staying at his 2024 level is a massive task for us tbh. Think is more likely a number of players around him improve significantly.

I posted in the past, what a significant moment it was in the club’s history when Pav signed a new contract at the end of 2002((?). We were broke, a laughing stock and everyone expected Pav to join a list of players who had wanted out and left.
His signing was akin to the most popular cool kid in school deciding to sit and have lunch with the kid who was teased and bullied. It surprised and confused most of the footy world but was a statement that perhaps there was some substance to Freo after all.
Thank you Pav.

I can't lay claim to creating this term, in fact I read it on here first. I think on the Fyfe greatest Docker thread. But...

Fyfe is Freo's greatest ever player.

Pav is Freo's greatest ever Docker.

I'd argue Pav is even the greatest ever player, but I just love the sentiment of it.
Fyfe stood on Pav's shoulders.

Without Pav there is no Fyfe.

Fyfe and Pav are/were both champions of the game and of the FFC.
Both loyal players who were inspiring in their own way. Both match winners who could carry the team on their back when required.
Fyfe is possibly slightly the better player but also took a pounding in the midfield thus helping shortening his career.
Pav would get my vote as the better of the two owing to his durability.
The bottom line is that the pair of them were fantastic players.

Nah Pav was a better footballer too. Probably close to the best ever of his type (Genuine all positions utility. Could play HBF, CHB, Onball, HFF, CHF and FF). Take the midfielders gongs off Fyfe he's not that stand out as an onballer compared to the other very best players in that position in his generation. (Don't get me wrong: great player.)

I think Amiss kicks more goals than Treacy in 2025. Progress isn't linear so I suspect things are a bit harder for Treacy and a bit easier for Amiss next season.
