Aside from the March 2nd game in Tassie against the Dogs any word on a scratch match prior? word is there will be one!
Anyone....Anyone....Bueller.....Beuller?
Depends what position they play, small forward is WAY less demanding than midfielder....Only players who have elite durability make it past 32/33 (I'm talking Burgoyne, Pendleberry, etc).
Chad is pretty much the complete opposite to these types of players unfortunately.
I think Chads number one priority should be to make it through this year without any further injuries.
If he can do that and his form is decent then he can probably get another year or two out of his body.
The 23rd of February is match simulation against the Bulldogs at Whitten Oval starting at 11 amAside from the March 2nd game in Tassie against the Dogs any word on a scratch match prior? word is there will be one!

In some ways yes, in other ways no.Depends what position they play, small forward is WAY less demanding than midfielder....
Will it be open though? Looking on Google Maps it's all fenced off.The 23rd of February is match simulation against the Bulldogs at Whitten Oval starting at 11 am
Chad is 30, if form and fitness hold up (and admittedly those are big ifs), he could play another 4-5 years.
I was told that the match simulation is open for the public to watch on that dayWill it be open though? Looking on Google Maps it's all fenced off.
Also looking at the street view images from within the Hocking St car park... I wonder if the Google driver was nervous.
Packers and Ian Dicker are synonymous.I hope the guys are taking in the packers game tomorrow. No limits.
I think the niners have too many offsensive weapons and will win tomorrow, but I absolutley agree that the Packers can show what a young team can do with self belief and a coachable team. They've been a fantastic story this season. The hawks can take plenty of lessons away from their journey this year for sure.I hope the guys are taking in the packers game tomorrow. No limits.
Weird that we are against the same team 2 weeks in a row.23rd Feb 2024 11 am
Hawks v dogs practice match on Kayo
I hope the team are taking in the 49ers game tomorrow. No limits.I hope the guys are taking in the packers game tomorrow. No limits.
Would love to know in what capacity he's returningRoughy
well Chad and Bruest are not going to be around for too many more years and Dimma is a bit of a new approach and maybe not permanent and maybe be a bit of a swingman while the young guys build.... also i hope the small forwards are 'crumbing' rather than "crumbling " !!!So the forward line is going to consist of two tall marking forwards (at this stage Lewis and Chol), one medium tall/3rd tall (Gunners) and three small crumbling forwards. The latter will, ultimately, come from: Moore, Chad, Bruest, Wiz, Dimma, Ginni and maybe even Butler. Seven does not go into three. We are overloaded with small forwards.
Yes, it's crying over spilt milk, but I still think we should have gone for Curtin over Watson.
Still, now he's in Hawk colours, I hope the Wiz does really well.
Roughy
CHB?Would love to know in what capacity he's returning
The funny thing is that after all these years it's still a spot that needs to be filledCHB?
Would love to know in what capacity he's returning
Suspect this won’t be a popular post but I hope people can understand the sentiment. Don’t get me wrong, I love having hawthorn legends at the club, but I recall before Clarko was appointed in 2004 we seemed to have an unhealthy rule of hiring predominantly if not completely Hawthorn people for roles at the club. Clarko changed that and we were better for it. We seem to be hiring a lot Hawthorn people again, I hope we are still getting the best people and not just the best Hawthorn people.Roughy
Correct but if you recall it was to do an apprenticeship elsewhere to gain experience and then return if you got the credentialsSuspect this won’t be a popular post but I hope people can understand the sentiment. Note: this isn’t a go at Roughie, as I suspect he may well fit into both categories.
Agree that’s valuable and better than just staying at hawthorn for life but some of the assistants we had during the 3peat era and either side had no real links to the club and were a a huge part of our success. Guys like Viney, Hardwick, Cameron, Simpson, Beveridge, Macrae, Burns etc.Correct but if you recall it was to do an apprenticeship elsewhere to gain experience and then return if you got the credentials
