Glad to see Newc get the chocolates, his last 6 or 7 games were as good a patch as anyone in the league had all year.

Yeah, Finals being part of the count definitely cost Moore, he was quiet in both and Newcombe would have top scored.

Less votes separating 3rd through 10th (and probably more) than there is 2nd and 3rd.

A very even spread reflecting a year where there were no passengers.

Does seem correct (to me at least) that the top 2 were true stand outs for us this year.

Very happy with the top 3 in the PCM and congratulations to all. I'm so happy for Jars who has worked his a$$ off to get back after that terrible ACL injury. Love seeing him run off of half back this season back to his pre-injury form.

I agree but I notice both Scrim and Meek didn't acquire many coaches votes either so maybe there is something in that.

I was surprised about where Scrimshaw finished too but you need to look at it in the context of past seasons, 10th this season would have been equal 5th last season and our spread of contributors in terms of votes was the highest it's been since 2016 - a year where Josh Gibson finished 8th. Hard to be upset about that.

Happy to see Impey get a top three finish, he's one of my favourite Hawks and he's put in a mountain of work to get back to playing great footy again after that shocking ACL.

A couple of surprises for me in the order of the top ten, thought my man Scrimmers would have placed a bit higher and also surprised Meek didn't crack a top ten finish but really there were bugger all votes separating 3rd from 10th which is a good indicator of how even a team performance we had this year.

And of course congratulations to the Prince of Poowong Jai Newcombe, I'm betting this won't be his last PCM this beast of a man wins before his career is done

Another top 5 finish for Dimma! He’s done so now in 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022 and 2024. Has only not finished in the top 10 in 2017 and 2020. Just ultra consistent and despite the criminal lack of media attention I’m glad he’s clearly rated highly internally.

Hope this silences a bunch of supporters who consistently called for him to be dropped this year.

Very Happy Watson won but surprised here is why, Dear was picked at a pick in the 50's while Watson was pick in the top 5 in the draft, we kind of knew what we hopefully were getting with Watson, Dear was a full surprise, and showed the his the most promising I believe, but everyone views things differently, but both will be outstanding players and are worthy of it.

Just 18 votes separating Impey (3rd, 118 votes) from D'Ambrosio (10th, 101 votes)
Something like 20 votes between 3rd and 12th. Nothing in it, really...

Aside from Newcombe and Moore, you could basically put the others in any order you like.

The AA conversation surrounding the full time wingmen is overplayed, in my opinion. All of the wingmen poll way fewer votes than the leading mids. But why is there such intense focus on them? What about the gun lock-down small defenders like Dimma Hardwick? Or defenders like Impey who don't rack up massive stats, but they have way more impact than the loose receivers in defence?

The AA team is always overloaded with those chip scabs at the expense of the real defenders who actually defend.
