Good to have the competition.
Yep - it’s not Chol’s spot at all.

No guarantee he starts in the seniors rd 1 yet.

Will need to get his fitness base up and perform in the next 2 months first.

If Ramma could stand up and do the Hale role, and do it well, that’s another piece in place for our next flag side…
I think Ramma will be very different to Hale, who was essentially a stand and deliver kind of guy who patrolled the half forward line most of the time. Ramma seems very mobile and athletic. I think he will roam much more of the ground than Hale ever did.

As long as he can intercept in the last qtr against our arch enemies in a prelim

Not only has the forward structure been improved by adding Chol and with Ramma in the wings developing with another preseason to support Lewis but if they don’t mark it ……. imagine the group of Bruest/Moore/Wiz/Ginnivan at their feet!

Our forward line has changed overnight with the options and unpredictability now available with a quality young midfield group delivering the ball! Sam’s plan is coming along nicely

You forgot to add Dimma

I have said this before and adamantly believe that Ramma is the man for the wing role. He is an aerobic beast great hands and an accurate kick. Yes he's not blindingly fast but his strengths mean we would have a dump kick getout from defence with better than 50/50 to win. Presently that long kick out of defence when we are under pressure comes back with interest because we don't have a marking release.

Hi guys,

Can anyone let me know when training is this week and when the next intra club is scheduled. I want to go to a training session to do a report for you all so would love to see some match sim.

Xx duck

Ramma will only get a taste again this year at best, next year is his year
I remember reading from people last year that he wouldn't get a taste until this year. Few weeks later he debuted.

Sounds like he's added some good mass to his frame over the break and is training well. I wouldn't put it past him to play most games this season under the right circumstances.

I think we get that with a) Lewis moving up to CHF role and roaming up ground b) Ramma playing forward and chopping out reeves (ie reeves takes the centre tap and pushes forward while Ramma then pushes up ground to do the ruck work in general play and utilise his tank)

Mason Wood who has been a complete spud for most of his career showed how effective a big aerobic lump can be on the wing.

He had plenty of favourable match ups dragging his man inside 50, and would be effective deep in defence going the other way.

Some bloke called Andy Gowers was handy at that too, still not sure why he left

Training notes
Ward didn't partake in running - decreased load and instead did work in the gym
Seamus Mitchell did running in the rehab group but didn’t partake in the match simulation
Chad Wingard was running and completing his own program
Will Day hobbled down the stairs and watched on from the sidelines
Player from Box Hill wearing number #55 took part in training - a defender

Match sim- First quarter
Probable forward line? - Chol, Breust, Dimma, Watson, Ginnivan, Moore
Probable backline? - Amon, Sicily, Blanck, Scrimma, Weddle, Impey
Mixed midfield
Chol had a great pick up and spin onto his left evading traffic
Massimo played on a wing and hit a beautiful kick onto the chest of Chol
Croc played in the midfield and high half forward as well
Sammy Butler had time up on a wing, as well as down in the forward line
Luke Breust, Sam Frost and CJ all did part of the match sim, before running along the boundary as part of load management
Noodle only completed half of the match simulation before watching on from the boundary
Dimma Hardwick played forward and then went back - very much showing the versatility that looks like will become part of his game
DGB played down back as a defender before moving forward in the last part of match simulation where he was lined up on Jai Serong
Jack Gunston took part in half of the match simulation and led well while also setting up some shots on goal in the forward line
James Blanck had some nice spoils and looked composed at the back
Husswaite and Frenchie are both incredibly classy and have so much time with the ball in hand - both should be pushing for more game time throughout the year.
Finn Maginness tagged Jai Newcombe during part of the match simulation which was a fascinating watch as both are incredibly diligent and hardworking in their approach.
Weddle has license to thrill - takes off from the backline which is great when it works - a few times was caught out
Finished off with a running session - Shuttle sprints in which the draftees didn’t complete before whole field runs - Will McCabe very quick in these

Ned Maginness, Christian Moraes and Ky Burgoyne at training but didn't partake in match simulation

Also, Sam Mitchell was back on deck today

Thanks, love these reports. Curious to get more detail on this if you don't mind. :)

Around stoppages Finn would clamp onto Jai. Other mids would try and block or impede Finn to allow Jai to try and get free. Neither took the points from what I could see but a very willing contest as neither really wants to lose
