who the hell is that rudd fella, taken 3 huge marks in the span of 2 minutes

Not sure exactly but a St. Joeys boy from Geelong and played for St. Mary's so suspect he is related (a nephew) to the Rudd family from Torquay - one of whom is the musician Xavier Rudd and another is Josh Rudd, owner of Ghanda clothes.

39 touches, 9 marks, 10 tackles and 2 goals. Take a bow, Will Hayes.

Tiges win 14.10.94 Blues 12.13.85
Geez our boys fought that out well. Nearly 5 goals down in the 3rd quarter.
Only 2 AFL listed players (both yet to play a game) against the Tiges who had a few blokes with AFL level experience out there.
Will Hayes sensational.
Well done lads.

I don't see much with Rob Monahan i know his Irish but he is lucky that he will be on our list as i think it doesn't count on a spot on list so he can hold it for 2 more seasons. I rather hold on Alex Mirkov who been a slow burn if they a similar category spot.

Rudd missed being drafted last year, just a kid. Was mostly 3rd tall/ undersized key in championships.
Been waiting to see him perform for the twos. Plenty to work with, but might not be genuine tall unless had a growth spurt.

Will Hayes should have done more at AFL level pity he isn't 21 not 29 i think AFL would have given him a better shot. I think Carlton should convince him to stay for a couple more seasons for our VFL side. I also like us to bring back Cameron Polson and Luke Parks for 2025 and possibly another experience VFL player.

Too early to write Monahan off, but had an underwhelming debut season. Just went back last couple of games after our “wonderful development team” decided he could learn the game forward in a struggling team. Hard to think of any Irish who have not learned the game starting behind the ball.

Would love Parks back in our VFL group if Hayes is happy to play while being a part of the highly successful Lindsay Park training triumvirate (big day yesterday at Caulfield, my Sportsbet A/c happy), we would be mad not to have him.

That why he is lucky will have 3 seasons at minimum too see growth would be surprise if was let go after year 2 he would have not improved at all or we found other Irish players we like to try. I would think project type get 3-4 years if it doesn't effect main list.

That was an exciting game of footy. I loved the dare to run the ball with speed. It involved hand passing in tight spaces and tidy kicks to players running into space. It created a lot of opportunities but the lack of a second marking tall was a killer.

Hats off to Rioli jr. His last quarter saved the game for the Tigers. That low centre of gravity makes him nigh on impossible to tackle at this level.

Very impressed with Hayes and Mirkov. Young was solid but his kicking makes me nervous. Ramshaw provided plenty to support Hayes. Tobie Travaglia looks the goods. Reads the play. Some added strength will make him a likely player at the next level.

Finally. I’ve watched most of the VFL games this year. Only 4 games won but most of the time they’ve been competitive. Today was a statement from the VFL boys who’ve carried the load this season.

Mirkov showing why he should have been picked this week.

Hayes is too slow, has been tried at AFL level twice.

Parks falls away in VFL games and the question I'd have on Polson is can he yet execute any kicks under perceived pressure.

Lots of talented footballers out there, as evidenced by our performance here. Give some new names a turn.

Wil White, Heath Ramshaw, and Dave Harvey all looked pretty promising. Starting to think the AFL needs to raise minimum list numbers again so clubs can develop young talent.

Agree, he'd want to be impressing coaches with his game study, because he looks lost out there despite the physical ability to dominate.
