Him being the 5th wheel is the right call. Which if they've decided to go that way, I don't know why you'd delay it any further, give Liam as much time behind the wheel as you can.
Sounds like Iwasa is the reserve driver next year too.

Dan will drive NASCAR

I mean ir looks like he's done sadly.

He's done reasonably well in races against Yuki the last 6 rounds or so, but it's not enough.

I know I'm a Dan fan, but I reckon he is a little unlucky this time (if the rumours are true)...

This season, in race finishes against his teammate, it is 9-8 to Ricciardo. If you include sprints, Ricciardo leads Tsunoda 11-9.

Since they changed his chassis after Ricciardo suggested something wasn't right, Ricciardo has beaten Tsunoda 7-2 on race weekends (that's the last 9 races).

I suppose the unlucky part is that has timed itself with the VCARB being overtaken by basically all the other teams (bar Sauber) so even though he is driving better and finishing higher, there are no points on offer for it to count in the championship. Had he gone past Tsunoda in the championship (as his race results would suggest), it would make the decision to move him on significantly harder.

If Norris were to DNF this weekend and Oscar wins...... there would have to be a very tricky conversation had in the Mclaren Motorhome.
Norris and Max taking each other out and not scoring points and Oscar winning would sure make things interesting.

If Lando doesn't make up points to Max every single race weekend, the championship battle is over.

Tbh though I think the championship battle is already over, particularly if RB have figured out some of their car gremlins like they suspect they have.

The one thing that makes me think this isn't Daniel's last race, is that I would have expected Red Bull to announce it before hand and at least have some sort of farewell. Would be particularly cruel on the guy as popular as Daniel to just announce he's not seeing the next race after this one is complete.

So this makes me think either
1. Liam will be announced for 2025 taking Daniels seat after Singapore, but Daniel given the rest of the season (most likely imo).
2. Liam into the RB, Daniel replacing Perez for 7 races (unlikely).

So after all this kerfuffle about drivers swearing, Sky starts off the weekend with Ted dropping the f-bomb live on telly before P1 even starts
Yep. That was a shocker.

SkyF1UK have this almost biblical aversion to swearing and their pit commentator throws out the f-bomb across their global coverage.

Most unlike Ted and Sky it must be said.

Maybe the pressure of comments about the bias of his commentary is starting to bite.

For those of us who only tune in at 11pm on Saturday night, what was the context here? Was a hot mic or a slip of the tongue?

Was commenting on the Ferrari front wing set up from the pits and was struggling with his words.

"fking hell sorry lets try that again" is what was broadcast as that cross ended. The feed switching to an unprepared Lazenby saying 'perhaps we'll come back to that' made it all worthwhile.

Insane when you think about the fact that they had literally MISSLE attacks occurring within 10km of the track in Saudia Arabia and the FIA didn't give a shit about the drivers safety, but say a swear.......

How Dare You Greta GIF
