Hes no longer up to it in the middle.I don't know about the rest, but Fyfe most definitely is not a forward.

I see NOD as more outside run than inside mid; can’t see Erasmus as an outside guyIf the coach wants a big body replacement for Fyfe he isn't choosing between Murphy and Erasmus.
I'm not quite sure who Murphy (or Cooper by the way) replace if they come in, but pretty sure it won't be Fyfe.
Erasmus is competing with Fyfe, O'Meara, O'Driscoll and Banfield for a place.
NOD does have good burst speed to break away from stoppages though, I like him as a change up type inside player like Switta, Jackson and Bolton.I see NOD as more outside run than inside mid; can’t see Erasmus as an outside guy
That's pretty goodWalker Pearce Ryan
Clark Cox Chappy
Noddy Young Sharp
Freddy Treacy Bolton
Jackson Amiss Switta
Darcy Brayshaw Serong
Fyfe, Johnson, Sturt, Wagner.
Sub Erasmus.

Yes I think he's no longer the best option in there either, but he's still an AFL standard mid, he's a WAFL standard forward.Hes no longer up to it in the middle.
Disagree based on last year, no longer an AFL standard mid. Maybe as sub.Yes I think he's no longer the best option in there either, but he's still an AFL standard mid, he's a WAFL standard forward.
He's borderline to my eye, but he's playing a role good enough to keep other players out. If he wasn't doing the job he would have gotten dropped - we have options.Disagree based on last year, no longer an AFL standard mid. Maybe as sub.

We need PurpleEyes to revisit their games played/average age theory from a couple years back. We look to be heading right into our sweet spot especially with so many of these having played their careers together. The synergy is only continuing to grow.To me there is a clear best 20, their average age and games are 24.6 years and 85 games. A young core on the precipice

The next 3 players could be our 3 oldest players in bringing our averages to 25.7 years and 102 games.
These 3 players skew our averages by adding over 1 year and 15 games to our playing side's averages. We see only marginal improvement over some of our younger options.

Forgetting NODSome fairly strong midfield depth this year.
A roster: Bradshaw, serong, young.
B roster. Fyfe, Bolton, Johnson, JOM
C roster. Erasmus, Brodie, Switta, Aish, Simpson, banfield,
It’s going to be hard to get a crack. You can only really play 5 or 6 mids a game.
Saw him more as a winger with Sharpie.Forgetting NOD
If you’re including JOM, Banfield, Aish, Switta and Simpson, you should chuck NOD in there as well.Saw him more as a winger with Sharpie.
Its all speculation an opinion obviously but Id have a few differences. My list is different to yours in that Im grading what I predict will be the performance level of players. I have higher expectations for Erasmus and Johnson due to how they both look great according to training reports. Im also grading Bolton on how I think he'll go when midfield. I think Luke Jackson will spend time playing as a mid at some point in the year if he gets his fitness up to scratch. SWitta judged purely on how he goes as a mid not a forward. Some fairly strong midfield depth this year.

We always play 7 backs and 7 forwards so swap Wagner with JOM/Ras and that’s our round 1 team I reckon.B: Walker Pearce Ryan

Sub Wagner
Depth: Fyfe, Aish, Worner, Walters, Draper, Reid
I am happy for Fyfe and Erasmus to share the inside mid role for a bit, and settle the team before finals.

Great depth when we have Fyfe, Aish, Worner, Walters, Draper, Reid, Simpson and Ras all competing for a spot in the starting 22.
This would be my team aswell only thing I’m not against is if Draper has improved more then Ras I’d drop Ras Chappy to the wing where they’ve wanted to play him for years and Draper in as a defender. And maybe coop as the sub changing with Murphy every 2 weeksB: Walker Pearce Ryan

Fwiw, in the last match sim I believe they had Draper lined up on Shai. Shai presumably had him on skates, but he'll have pretty much every defender on skates.Does Draper, Ryan, Cox, Pearce make us too tall and slow?
I would think so.
I don't think Pearce and Cox will play 22 games this year, so he should 5 games easily. In my eyes, Pearce is one player we should have lined up rest weeks so he is fit at the end of the year.
Round 5 vs Richmond
Round 12 vs Gold Coast
Round 22 vs Port maybe
Probably best you get the players rested early in the year, as if it comes the back end of the year and we need to win the players won't be rested.

I think they may at least try to look at what a back line where Draper plays with Ryan, Cox and Pearce looks like. Draper's an elite athlete and I think there's a version of him where it can work. We would play McPharlin, Dawson and Johnson together, and their support cast weren't exactly short people. Johnson having the athleticism and skill he had made that work, and Draper could develop into that type where you're adding defensive robustness without sacrificing mobility/rebounding/defending ground balls. Probably too raw right now, though showed encouraging signs to end the season.
