There's some suggestion, given RICH will be bottom in 2025 ....they'll adopt a FREO style chip chip approach in DEF to have a slow and steady exit from D50
Will benefit Short ....of course Mills is a lock, but don't discount Short
The Cats might be looking at TDK now and thinking, what if we could turn Sam into that? He'll never be a match winner in defence but he could be as a ruck.Just reading that Sam DeKoning has been full time ruck in Cats match sims. With Conway not seen yet he has to be considered if they start that way. His first game in the ruck last year he did score 135 the same day his brother ripped him a new one.
Blics back to permanent def.
Get a look in r0 at least.
Couldn’t agree more. I too hope they persist. We’ll need Blicavs to play until he’s 40 though .The Cats might be looking at TDK now and thinking, what if we could turn Sam into that? He'll never be a match winner in defence but he could be as a ruck.
I actually thought he showed plenty rucking against Tom. Just needs a bit more size and strength to compete in the ruck contests.
Sinn or DylWilliams maybe.Any Port fans know who will replace Houston’s role down back?
Seems maybe Sinns but doesn’t seem like many people are mentioning him
229k….
Touch & go for both IMOThis one’s for Saints fans and other folks in the know…
I’ve had Travaglia locked in at d6 from the outset. But with recent reports suggesting he needs more conditioning I need a plan b. Do you reckon Schoenmaker will get enough opportunity to justify a d5/d6 on-field position?
Sinn will get first go. Port made a big investment in him by trading up at the time and it looks he is finally over all his injury setbacks. Just needs continiuty over a period of time to build up his confidence at the top level.Any Port fans know who will replace Houston’s role down back?

It's pre-season, not a lot else to contribute to the thread beyond what I wrote....It shows the effort is being put in.Why do people post pics as though I know what SC relevant players look like IRL
agree, maybe shoey might make r1 if he keeps going as he is and RTB finds a reason to go with him, doubt trav will, no rush with him, looks good but.Touch & go for both IMO
The smoky is James Barrat. Impressed in match sim intercepting in defence.
Physically ready to go & beautiful kick. big watch

Anyone watch Jayden Short & Richmond closely in 2024? As a North fan I didn’t really need to watch another basket case closely every week so can’t say I have any idea why he had such a dip in scoring.
Only 1 score sub affected. Take that out & his average was still only 85 after 4 years of ~98. Not quite true premium in defence these days but value pick there. Weighing up Short v Mills
Mills country mile.
Cheaper, mid role, higher history of scoring (105+).
A combination of reasons. In a weaker team, so less options to kick to. Rioli stepped up last year (probably looking for the big move and contract). Can be a butcher at times. Maybe he just couldn't be bothered in a crap side?
I don't think anybody is expecting 98 again, but he's certainly got 90-95 in him. We're all looking for value, and with Rioli gone, we're hoping there's a few extra touches for Shorty. He's a VC, he's almost 30, he's gotta step up and help this young side. Worth a crack.
But...
If it's Short vs Mills, it's Mills by the length of the Flemington straight. Mills is simply a must-have imo
I started him in 2024 as a POD and watched him closely. I'm honestly surprised he got as much as around 20 disposals a game up until I punted him after Rd 5 when he got injured. It felt like he was hardly near it and had a lot of quiet quarters with only 1, 2, or 3 disposals etc.Anyone watch Jayden Short & Richmond closely in 2024? I would guess Kerch 70% HB, 30% mid as we have a lot of mids and he offers great run off HB, but PS watch.North supporters - is McKercher playing back this year? And how much forward time do we think Sheezel is getting? I’m thinking of going McKercher over Sheezel
I think with Sheezel, it's more about resting FWD, rather than on the bench .....and he'll draw a good defenderI would guess Kerch 70% HB, 30% mid as we have a lot of mids and he offers great run off HB, but PS watch.
Sheezel maybe 30% FWD, 70% mid, he is too good, we need him in there a fair bit I believe.
Watch for both still though for sure pending roles.
No doubt.I think with Sheezel, it's more about resting FWD, rather than on the bench .....and he'll draw a good defender
Priced at 45 ave ....to make $150K he'll need to ave 75 .....do you think a CHB Rookie can ave 75 ?Fellow Tiges supporters, what do we think of Jacob Blight? Surely he's a lock at CHB in lieu of Balta's absence (not to mention Gibcus' and Young's recoveries). Priced at 246,000, could increase easily by 100-150k quickly in my opinion.

I’m all for Clark praise but talk about nitpicking stats. He may of only had 2 below 83 but he had 7 85 or lowerI’m surprised that Clark is only in 5% of teams. Last year went only below 83 twice. Between rounds 10-22 he scored 100 plus in all games. Super consistent. Great bye. No question marks on role.
Ryan took 149 kick outs last year, Clark 49. Could easily see him getting more of that too.
