Competitions 2025 Essendon Board My Boy Draft

I've changed the OPs of player threads to their draft position. Check and you should have control over the title and the OP of the thread.

There are some ground rules to this:

1. Having a boy means supporting your boy and the team. If you're using the thread title or the OP to troll or kick the shit out of a player, you will lose the privilege.
2. Follow the basic format for the title of #XX: Player Name - your message e.g. #5: Elijah Tsatas - is fantastic. The format makes it easier to find threads. Please ensure the thread title still contains the correct player names. Mods will change the title if it doesn't conform
3. Don't post anything that contravenes site rules, duh.

Minor things that the mods don't like may be cleaned up without warning, serious or persistent breaches will see the access removed altogether.

Otherwise, go nuts!

Welcome to the 2025 My Boy draft, starting nice and early this year so we have as little visibility of the pre-season as possible to change our minds on who we like.

This year we're going to up the ante a bit. One thing I always enjoy watching at draft time is the mad scramble to be the first poster to make the thread for the skinny 18 year old the club just drafted. The stakes for Isaac Kako were so high that no less than four separate posters threw their hat in the ring in an attempt to snag the rights for his OP, and some even tried to earnestly bag the thread weeks before Kako had even joined the club. These actions, while hilarious, provided the inspiration for the twist to this year's My Boy draft - in 2025 you get the ownership of the thread for the player you draft.

This means you can:

• Edit the OP of the thread to detail whatever obscure information you want about the player, or make your mark by outlaying just how much they mean to you*
• Edit the title of the thread to announce to the world about your boy's 9 kick, 2 mark game on the weekend. *
• .... that's really about it. But hey, at least it's more reward than what you've gotten before!

*caveat on the above is that whatever you post needs to be reasonably polite and somewhat understandable. Board rules apply, the fun police (me) can revoke the privilege at any time.

Rules:
1. No trading picks, no trading players.
2. If there's nobody left on the board that you like, you may pass.
3. Draft order will be generated at random once sign ups are complete, everyone has one selection in draft order
4. If there are players remaining at the end of the first round, the draft order will be randomly redone for round 2.
5. You can't dibs a player before the draft. Duh.

Looks like we've only got a dozen so far which makes for a pretty short first round. Come one guys, think of the 30 odd players who would be left in the lurch after round 1. Think of the dejected looks on their sad little faces when they realise not even BigFooty wants to adopt them
