Docherty in the 70s as well if we can trust him to get his body right.Daicos seems to be value, he will have some mids alongside him to protect him again this year.
Taranto if he stays fit could be this years version of 2021 Miller/Steele, the do do everything mid in a poor side.
Been some talk of Merrett and Shiel training at half back? If so Parish could be an option, priced at 91.6 is pretty good value.
Green at 99.9? thats crazy good.
JDG at 80 is value if he can stay fit.
Clarry obviously at 77 lol.
Day priced at 74
Cerra at 72 looks good if fit.
Early days but so much value in the middle
I dunno exactly how the supercoach pricing works, but it sounds like hes being talked up as a mid-pricer in that game. Sounds like its similar to what we do in fantasyDocherty in the 70s as well if we can trust him to get his body right.
Still only 31, but has been through a bit.
Query on the other game (Supercoach). My understanding is their pricing is just last years average with the same discounts applied (AFL Fantasy is discount applied to the higher of the last 2 years). Does this mean that Docherty is priced at his one game last year of 45 + a 27% discount = Priced at 32 in Supercoach. Surely he's not rookie priced in that game ?
Probably, predominantly, feel, could, different.........MMMmmmm? Glad he cleared that up!
FYI he's been semi iniured and hampered during the preseason, not been at 100%How much danger is there of Hayden Young being moved around? I'm quite keen on him if he's a permanent mid.
What do you think he can average potentially? How much danger is there of Hayden Young being moved around? I'm quite keen on him if he's a permanent mid.
I don't have his TOG stats on hand but I remember him spending a lot of time on the bench last year, so I thought maybe with increased fitness/TOG, plus disregarding the 37 aberration, he could do 100. And he has a good bye, whereas most others around his price range have an early bye or are inferior options in general. What do you think he can average potentially?
Most people (outside of fantasy) would say he had a breakout year last year, and he still only averaged 92. Thing is he is a pretty damaging player, so I dont know if teams will be that willing to let him get 30+ regularly like they do with Brayshaw and Serong.
Freo appeared to love having him drive forward in the back half of last season, and they also have Bolton now to fill that role. Be interesting to see how they use him, and whether it's a little more for the mid defensive role. They have an embarrassment of riches, and I'm hoping it brings Serong a little more into his own this season. What do you think he can average potentially?

For what reason.Hayden Young has to be at or near his ceiling.
They’re the only 2 I’m seriously considering for that closer to full priced premium mid but hoping they’re the must have top line midI will try and fit him at M1/2 with Brayshaw but it is pricey. Still averaged 105 through all the tags, concussion, foot inj, fwd time, etc.
Has never shown the ability to be a high disposal player, talented with ball in hand but not an accumulator. Marks plummeted moving into the midfield, as he moved from a transition player in defense to contested midfield. Can't see him scoring above 95.For what reason.
In a year where there's already a ton of value in the midfield, I don't think it's worth trying to pick a breakout candidate, especially at his price ($803K).Thoughts on Wardlaw being a genuine breakout candidate? Can he make that 3rd year just to 95+?
I think he can make a jump, but hes competing against the likes of Oliver, Docherty, Cerra, Day and Coniglio who I have more faith in going 90+, even guys like Ashcroft, JDG, Callaghan, are in that similar price range and are either breakout candidates or decent chances to go back to 90+.Thoughts on Wardlaw being a genuine breakout candidate? Theres a bit of competition in that 70-85 price bracket.
That being said, in games he went 20+ disposals last year, he went at 90.8. He did that in 9 of his 18 matches
I think he can beat that 20 touches regularly this year. He only had 66% CBAs last year too, if he can pump that up to 75%ish thatll be him sorted.
He went at 19 touches a game last year, and 4.3 tackles. Pump that to 22 touches and 5 tackles, hes up to about 88-90 points per game.
Im interested, I think 90+ is very achievable for him. Main thing is how many of those mid price mids can I fit in my side at once.
Gotta be careful of that Round 12 Bye too - Carlton, Roos, Port and BulldogsI’m already looking to start Doc and Oliver for the mid priced value and not overly excited by Day especially with his early bye. Cerra has also burnt me in the past and don’t trust his soft tissue injuries.
Cogs is the one I’m thinking of moving up to Wardlaw as thinking they may score similar and again no bye?
He just seems the type that we all know will break out at some point but then don’t pick him at the right time.
Guess if start Wardlaw he’s the higher priced option and can assess the others over their byes and then swap if needed. I do like a good POD!
