A good point about Petracca ive been thinking about is i don't see Goodwin putting him forward as much with his rib injuries and players kneeing him, potentially just plays alot more mid this year? He also set a PB in his time trial so hes really fit.

I couldn't start him but definitely could go back to his 105+ average if hes playing way more mid time.

I've had Petracca in my team up until the rib injury news, but I'd argue he's more likely to get crunched in a tackle or cop a knee at the bottom of the pack playing midfield.

However, I do feel like Petracca himself wants to play more midfield and if the Demons have any hope of holding onto him at the end of the year, they'll give him what he wants.

Can’t wrap my head around the crows. You guys now have Cumming, Hinge and Laird as rebounding half back types. Do they all play? Or does someone like Cumming go to a wing?
Hinge played a lot of wing late last season so he may. I prefer him back though

It’s an interesting part of the ground to watch for us, especially if Milera gets fit/form as another putting his hand up

Worrell, Keane, Murray the taller defenders, Michelanney mid-sized leaves 3 spots in a 7 defender rotation

Spicy take, Laird top 6 defender this year?
Thoughts?
Feel like I know my crows pretty well, can’t see him lining up anywhere else this year
Very bullish on Laird. All pre-season so far he is lining up at half-back (also played there the last 4 games of last season). He has shown in the past he can go 100+ average off half-back multiple times and I think he can do it again.

Have even considered starting him in my side because of a great starting few rounds for Adelaide (Saints, Essendon, North, Suns, Geelong). Would be a huge POD if you were to start him in the midfield then flick him to defence when he gets DPP in round 6. Only issue is he would take up a prime mid spot that you could be using on someone like a Brayshaw or a Rozee for example.

All being well, by Round 6 you might also be milking a few cows and moving two over to a Brayshaw or similar, after shifting Laird back - might be an even better play.

Will be a very close PS watch but I believe Hinge/Cumming will rotate on the wing with sholl on the other wing.
Did see someone just post about Milera which will also be an interesting watch, he could easily be best 22 if fit but where does he fit??
With the inclusion of Peatling, someone gets pushed out and I think it’s Laird considering he did end the year playing back as well - especially if Rankine gets a certain amount of CBA’s

Agreed, not sure if I’m bias but I think he’s a massive POD. I do wish he was under 1 mill but I can’t see a world where he doesn’t gain DPP in round 6. We are talking about Cumming gaining it, who I still think is a great pick however, I believe he will rotate on the wing which doesn’t guarantee back status

Edit: as well as the soft run that he starts with which you stated but the fact Laird will never cop any attention is just a major green flag too. I’m not saying I’ll start with him but I’ll monitor closely in the PS

If Laird plays anywhere this year he'd want to improve his disposal by foot for mine, he became a turnover merchant last year. Well and truly on the slide for mine. The youngsters are lining up to take his spot and should. I can't remember the last time he hit a target by foot. When aggression is all you have left it's over. Time catches us all. But Nicks...

What are everyone's thoughts on the round 12 bye? It's the worst of the mid-season byes because the aim with them should be to to trade in players who have had their bye for players who haven't, but you can't start doing that until after round 12. You could argue that the round 12 bye is worse than the round 4 bye given how many relevant players are on it.

I guess the other side of the argument is that round 12 is so far away and our teams will change so much in that time that you don't need to worry about it that much for your starting squad.

You have 25 trades before Round 12, which is almost enough to turn around your entire squad on paper.

Most people are going to have at least 4 of Xerri, Sheezel, Daniel, JHF, Rozee and TDK, plus any rookies or mid pricers that pop up(which will be popular picks too).

I think if you stick to no more than 4 of those guys you expect to keep the r12 bye wont be an issue.
4 is easy to cover.

He averaged 89 in the last 4 games with 0 CBA's, $1.019m, screams downside to me.

BTW, does anyone have a clue as to what the Magic Number is this year?

*Edit.........NM, found it, 10,260, prices Laird at 98
