Can't possibly pick Darcy after this.

this isnt a new injury, its just extra rehab stuff to complement what he was already doing.
If anything this is bullish for Darcy

Agree, it’s just them doing everything they can to enhance his rehab and function he comes back in

What it does highlight though with it being to that stage just now is that despite people being hyped by how fit he looks it is still a very interrupted preseason

If you’re picking him because of how fit he looks I don’t think you can ignore that fact at the same time. He’s not looking trim because he has been training the house down (on field)

FYI, the popular pre-season combo of TDK and X will not work

Both have the same bye
Doesnt really matter. Best 18. Only 4 teams on the bye which includes English...

But it's best 18 so it also depends on the other positions that share that bye. Same same.

Sheezel, Bont, Treloar, Butters, Rozee, JHF, Dale, Cerra, Doc, Daniel are all going to be popular picks, throw in TDK and Xerri and there's a real case for some serious hurt, particularly in the worst bye round. Losing the 2 rucks means best 18 from only 20 scores are available, I, for one, can't just dismiss it.

Yes but if someone really wanted to TDK and Xerri combo then you just disregard some of those midfielders.

My quote was to a comment stating TDK and Xerri can't work. Essentially a pairing of Xerri and Bont is the exact same thing.

Not necessarily. If you start TDK and Xerri, we rarely get a playing R3, so you're already limiting yourself to a maximum of 20 scores in a best 18 round. However, we might get Harry Boyd this year and then you'll have 21 scores.

If you start Bont, you can cover him with one of your bench rookies, so you'll still have 22 scores to take your best 18 from. Although their score is unlikely to count, there's a strong crop of mid rookies this year so they might pop a ceiling score, or outscore one of your def/fwd rookies, and it gives you a bit of extra security in case of an injury or another player's down game.

Just something to consider.

So don't start a ruck pairing you really really want because you may get 20 more points in one bye week? Having 22 scoring players isn't going to ensure you outscore a team with only 18 available players.

When it comes to bye weeks what matters most is the amount of scoring premiums you have playing. Rookies are a lottery. Then we even have flex so by then you may even have a 3rd premium ruck. Or can get an extra number in there if you happen to have a full line somewhere

Either way you shouldn't decide your ruck pairing entirely on the multi bye rounds. You'd be looking at total available premiums each week. Even the best thought out plans don't always work. You can't predict injuries, suspensions and management.

Valid points but you've got to remember Round 12 is the tricky bye, with a lot of popular players sharing this round (Doch, Cerra, Sheez, Daniel, Rozee, JHF, Bont, Dale, and probably a couple of others I've missed). If you load up with too many of these guys, as well as TDK & Xerri, you'll be in all sorts. Again, just something to consider. I'm starting Xerri and have been swapping between TDK and Darcy myself.

Have I missed something? Thought Flex was only in SC and Fantasy Draft?
