You could add Brown who looked good at training to that bench.Another year of being in the system should help him more than your average AFL player who has kicked a fooy since they could walk.

Derkson at 23 is another one with seasoned AFl body in reserve.Also I forgot Wardius who has also put on some kgs and has had some some good internal reviews.

Mcmullin is another one.I can't remember seeing him training specifically but I did see a few similar with a light brown mullet.Maybe top up or train on players.There were a few I think etc..I get young guys with that light brown mullet look confused.Haha Anyone else same?

At the end of the day we are stacked in forwards and backs.Probably the best in comp in these areas..Mids are our issue compared to the best midfields in the comp .Hopefully our mids have career years.Then sky's the limit.

Just reading those comments, I realise that I have been guilty of forgetting about Callum Brown when I think of the best squad we could put out. The first third of last season he was excellent. Until his unfortunate suspension (unfortunate, because I am quite certain he wasn't trying to hurt his opponent), he was outstanding in that fast medium forward role.

If he can get back to that level, he would certainly be another useful option. He would be a good sub IMHO. Coming in with speed to burn could help our attack late in games, and he can cover a number of positions.

So, potentially a dark horse in line for a forward line position if Kingers is being truthful! Kingers also confirmed that Stringer will have a spot in the forward line in opening round.

GWS coach Adam Kinglsey has flagged second-year forward Phoenix Gothard as a player he suspects will "be pushing hard" for a spot in the Giants' side in 2025. When questioned on the fringe forwards who are pleading their case this summer, Kingsley noted Gothard as a standout.

"We've got some emerging guys who we think are going to be really good players... [the forward line] is difficult to break into," Kingsley said on Friday. "Phoenix Gothard is one name that comes to mind who has been really good across the pre-season so far. He missed a lot of games last year through injury but towards the back end came on and started to show glimpses of being that player we drafted. With another pre-season under his belt he's performed really strongly, I expect him to be pushing hard (for a debut). There's a bunch of other guys who are pushing their case and then there's the new guys who have come in, they're not going to wait for anyone."

While competition for spots will be high, Kingsley sees Stringer having no issue slotting into a role and causing headaches for the opposition quickly. "We'll find a spot for him, he kicked 42 goals last year," the Giants coach added. "He'll work within our forward line and play the role that we need him to play, whatever the game dictates. We think he's a difficult match-up deep. We think him getting the ball through the midfield with his skill, his power and his speed can help us play the brand that we want to play."
