Andy heading into 2025 unsigned.
I’m not confident we keep him.
Yea, we’ve seen a free agent leave Freo. It was Chris Mayne eight years ago (nine by next year).

Moneyball.McVee isn't really as needed as Pickett
Moneyball.
Pickett is better, greater need and will cost a lot more. He is contracted for years, and Melbourne won't him go for cheap.
McVee is out of contract. Massive different. Demons has no leverage.
Then it can be:
Second round pick, fourth round pick and future second
for
McVee, second round pick and future fourth round pick
/\
This is the Ed Langdon trade btw.
Late first round is a pick in the early twenties. If we finish as high as we probably should McVee would nearly cost us a first rounder. Just a second rounder wouldn’t cut it - put it that way.
A late first round pick will be taken in the late first round bar free agent compensation in 2025 due to bid matching changes . Many clubs were unhappy with the draft compensation given to StKilda this year and North Melbourne the year before (including Carlton and Collingwood) so for that reason alone I think the formula for draft compensation will be less waited towards teams losing a player this year.Late first round is a pick in the early twenties.
I’m ok with that.

Lol. Teams other than the team being compensated have always been unhappy with free agency compensation since the stupid system was put on place.
