Looks like Hewett is back in rehab .. so he’s no certainy

Is Docherty in full training? Has he had a full preseason? He's in my side at the moment. Surely he plays down back.

Been in full training since last season. He played after a few weeks of full training before the final vs Brisbane and has been doing 100% of the sessions since from what we've seen.

Thanks for the info. Still 31, not a spring chicken, but he's got some legs left. $480k is steep, especially as a MID only, but if he moves back to half back and stays fit (fingers crossed for him), he could go bananas. Will get DEF DPP early if that's the case too. Defs on my radar, let's see where he plays in the preseason matches.

Olliepig is done. Only spud coaches will start him.
Stick an apple in his mouth and roast that sucker. Don't forget the potatoes (ie the rest of my team).

Oh and fade. Faded. Fading. Everytime I see them.

No way Rayner starts over Dunkley. Bolton isn't a top 3 mid for Freo, same with Martin for the bombers. Ross will definitely slot in defensive mid over those three.

No offence man but I reckon pretty much all of these are wrong.

No Serong in the middle for Freo? Tell him he's dreaming.
I was doing some homework yesterday on Bolton ......I didn't realise over his career, how high his CBA % were

I was of the opinion he dabbled, had periods of CBA attendance ....however he's consistently had 30%+ CBA's

This and his record at OS has seen him sneak into my side

So he averaged 54% CBA in 2024 and only averaged 77. Now going to a team with a much stronger midfield, please explain your logic.

Bolton started 2024 strongly, and then his season reflected RICH's fortunes .....he basically checked out, as a few players did

Good question though, will he get CBA's at FREO ....I suspect he will, but then who does that impact ? .....maybe Young

No way Bolton gets 50%+ CBA's at Freo. He's there to replace Walters.

I think with someone like Bolton it’s worth having the eyes test. If he goes well you’re probably only gonna pay 100k more than he is now? I’d rather see a months or two of his footy first.

You really need to make the list at least 4-5 players long for each club, as that's the amount of guys who will get decent mid minutes (>40%).

If I had to name the 4-5 from each team right now (assuming all are fit) it would look something like this. The guys in italics I'm either less confident on, or don't think they'll get quite as many minutes as the others.

Adelaide - Dawson, Crouch, Peatling, Rankine, Soligo
Brisbane - Neale, Dunkley, W.Ashcroft, McLuggage, L.Ashcroft
Carlton - Cripps, Walsh, Cerra, Hewett, Jagga
Collingwood - N.Daicos, DeGoey, Pendlebury, Crisp, Allen, Perryman
Essendon - Merrett, Caldwell, Parish, Durham, Tsatas, Martin
Geelong - Smith, Dangerfield, Holmes, Atkins, Bruhn
Fremantle - Serong, Brayshaw, Young, Fyfe, Bolton
Goldcoast - Rowell, Miller, Anderson, Flanders, Humphrey
GWS - Green, Kelly, Coniglio, Callaghan
Hawthorn - Newcombe, Day, Worpel, Nash, MacKenzie
Melbourne - Oliver, Viney, Petracca, Rivers
North Melbourne - Davies-Uniake, Sheezel, Wardlaw, Simpkin, Parker
Port Adelaide - Butters, Rozee, Wines, Horne-Francis, Drew
Richmond - Taranto, Prestia, Hopper, Ross, Smillie
St Kilda - Steele, Macrae, Phillipou, Windhagger
Sydney - Warner, Heeney, Mills, Rowbottom, Gulden
Westcoast - Yeo, Kelly, Reid, Duggan, Graham
Western Bulldogs - Bontompelli, Richards, Liberatore, Treloar

I did name 6 for the Pies and Essendon as finding it hard to get a read on their preferred midfield mix. Not sure what Freo does with M4-5. I don't rate Johnson and Erasmus personally, but think they'll want Bolton mainly forward. Fyfe can't play anywhere but mid. I also don't buy that that the Roos will push Sheezel to a flank to fit in Phillips and Powell. I think McKercher will end up playing back flank.

During preseason every team has 10 guys that will be playing midfield this year, until it gets to round 1 and its 4-5. Happens every year.
