Interestingly low amount of talk
On the Coldstream situation. Coach moved on after one year, many rumoured indiscretions not dissimilar to his removal from Park Orchards many years ago. IYKYK. Brought a lot of mercenaries with him who will no doubt follow him out the door. Rumours he’s signed at Alvie with his mate Moreland, who signed for Coldstream before quietly moving without a game. Another bloke with a questionable past…

Its carnage and getting worse I'm told.

Amazing how well they managed to sweep all that under the rug. What a basket case.

Divvy 5

Haha. Why would they feel the need to mention that?

Maybe he’s doing a 3hr shift at the pub every week for $5000.

He’s been at Montmorency and Sorrento, two of the biggest mercenary clubs in Vic, so clearly he responds to money and doesn’t come cheap.
Heard from another club that tried to get him across, offered him four figures a game (starting with a 2…) and that wasn’t enough. Something to think about.

Although the cap seems like a great idea, that's why its bullshit.

If financial clubs can legally pay new recruits 5k for mowing the secretary's lawn or changing a tap washer then whats the point of it? It would work if you could police it but the AFL barely controls third party deals so what chance has the EFNL got of getting on top it?

That’s all true, but if you ask anybody, it has 100% had an impact. Players are being paid less than they were 10 years ago.

So while it may not be adhered to, it seems like it is having an effect.

The Cap has had an impact, but as always, cashed-up clubs find loopholes. The point system has had more impact, and I am all for further cutting the points to 39. We have had many discussions about why and why not.

Could be worse. He loaded up at Powelltown and when he left 18 went with him. Not sure who's more stupid the people that approve this or the league that ticks it off.

Talking more the salary cap rorting.
will never be able to change that, what stops a sponsor handing over an envelope to player when they sign?
points system has changed it & the league should either look at the OMFNL model where continuous top teams drop points and lower teams have more points.

Bayliss isn't responsible for Fowkes and the 6 or 7 that went to Silvan with him, or Perry that went to The Basin or Cowan to UFTG. That's on them, they all could have stayed if they wanted.
