Hey not sure if this has been discussed, screenshot from dangers insta. Looks like he injured his ankle? Screenshot from the 28th

Edit: disregard just saw it was an ant bite reaction. Looks like it sucks anyway so I'll keep the photo up

Okay so I believe you wanted to hear about ant bite treatments.

Not everyone knows this, but honey and an oatmeal mix are both home remedies that can relieve the pain and irritation of ant bites.

The big plus of this of course is that you can make a larger batch and also have breakfast!

Sadly the same does not apply to bacon and eggs.

I think patty is in the stage of his career where he's probably trying i drop weight so limited bacon and eggs anyway

41 days until the match sim against Hawks. Do we know if that sucker is getting streamed somewhere or nah?

Also house arson leaderboard as I have it reads:

Shannon Neale: 10 townhouses and cottage down

Everyone else: smoke detectors activated and fireys time wasted
The practice games end up on Kayo, but you get such shonky camera work and commentary that it's hard to stay invested.

Could only deal with 15 minutes of Ed Curnow waxing lyrical about the Blues unprecedented run to losing a preliminary final last year. You'd think they'd just three-peated.

It's pretty average, but hey, when you're that footy starved beggers can't be choosers.

Ah yeah I forgot about the commentary. Hopefully they don't put Luke Hodge on it.

Just wondering from a AFL fantasy point of view if DeKoning has been doing some ruck training this off-season or if he looks to just be staying with his backman craft? Thought he showed something when he had to be thrown in and given his age and size he could grow in the the role.

I have also been hoping for some news of SDK training away from fullback, even if just a move to CHB where might have more room to create play out of defence. Henry has the game for fullback.
Zuthrie Henry Kolo
COS SDK Stewie
Humphries further up the ground.

Thing is Mitch brings more than just what he physically does to the game. He brings a he'll of alot of leadership and experience. All of which helps the players developing around him. He doesn't need to play every game and he won't, but he'll still be a very important part of the squad in 2025. If someone goes past him that's fantastic because it means we've got some real players coming through.
This!

Leadership + experience are too often disregarded. Duncan steadies the ship for the young guys.

Also, Duncan lays some very fine, hard tackles 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻

I think they still predominately see him as a backman. But that they saw the value in building flexibility- both for team and him. Reality is he hasn’t really started pre season yet (but has now fully recovered and done rehab) so we won’t get indication until team back in a few days.

They are still very hopeful that Toby comes on and therefore SDK is backup at best. But of course we can’t confident in Toby who is also been recovering…

Maybe this talk of Clarke being at half back in this pre-season, (but needs to improve his disposal), may be a depth play behind Mullins, etc as a small defender/tagger. In a way it’s disappointing that a top 10 pick is so poor with their disposal, but usually reporting on him mentions how high the club is on him being a really good player. Think this must be his break-out year if we got that pick right.
Too small and slow for a modern HB. Kicking prowess seems average. Vision is good though.
Middle or bust for him I think. The early cats pick curse is looming over him I fear.
He can play, and has undoubted leadership creds, but others may pass him by.

There are still question marks to how good a footballer Jhye Clark maybe become and to what position he'll finally settle into playing but one aspect of Jhye's game that does impress me is his 'mental strength and toughness', reminds me a little of Joel Selwood in that respect. Unfortunately, that's where the comparisons end but it's with this mental side and self determination of his game that still may see him end up being a very good footballer. Not so concerned with what position he plays, as long as it's good enough to be a quality contributor to the team.

I think it depends on Conway (and I have no inside info).
Ideally we would like to keep sdk back I think but if Conway isn't fit or doesn't progress enough then sdk will be rucking (because we lack alternatives). I expect sdk to see a fair bit of ruck time because we don't have other options.

I hope we see SDK get more involved in the middle of the ground. When he played in the ruck last season he struggled with the endurance side, which is to be expected, but his football craft and execution were great to use more around the ground. That checkside goal he kicked against the Hawks

Really hoping we get 2022 SDK this season - it can't have been easy for him in 2024 playing with an unstable patella.
Hopefully that is now sorted and he can put in a full preseason , looks to have bulked up a bit as well which can't hurt.
If COS can play some games we should see SDK rucking more as he will be important to give Stanley time out and with Conway not likely to play a significant amount of games.
Whilst his ruckwork was sub standard he did get a lot of the footy around the ground which is a great sign.

Might be time to discuss two old chestnuts:
  1. Night grand final;
  2. Names on guernseys

You need to be an elite kick off half back these days

I don't like Clark at half back at all. We have moved on the senior mids from the VFL team. I'd be telling him to go out and get 30+ every week in the midfield in the VFL and bang the door down and wait for the senior opportunity. Pretty much every other inside mid we have has versatility and can play elsewhere. If he is going good enough we could accommodate him as a mid.

So from the people that get inside info, have any of the draftees blown them away at all.
They're all types that will require time. Sounds like they're all meeting some pretty low expectations which is fine for where we've drafted them.

The only point to note really is there's a potential red flag on KMFs behaviour but we don't and won't know the details. Just need to see if it becomes a pattern and whether we shoot him into the sun.
