You could give me free tickets plus 5 grand and i’d still say no. Thats disappointing Josh
Shame. Would have thought his track Sicko Mode would suit as your general anthem/vibe.

While we have had a bevy of posters bemoan the lack of size developed in our youngsters and mid-aged players, it’s good to see the likes of Goater, Hardeman, George and Archer put in the work to have their bodies fully developed.

Let’s pray Goad, Bergman, Payne, Powell, Scott and Duursma are taking notes.

Powell has size on him now

Last preseason he stacked on the muscle

Actually looks like he's starting to take it seriously doesn't it
Funny because he was sort of in games more then than he is now. Spose he was second banana through those years but still, he looked like a serviceable footballer rather than an occasionally skilful passenger. Gotta hope this is a turning point for him. His best is really quite good, just like his worst is really quite shit

What would your predictions be on those lads' attitudes, just as a stab in the dark?

I reckon, respectively, nah, nah, nah, yes, yes but stunted by natural build, and 50/50

Weren't we drooling last year over preseason with pics of players training? I will wait until the season to see if all of this hype translates into real results
Come on Frank. We do this every year. Wait till the intra club games start. We will have 30 prime Judd types in the training reports. It’s the one time of year we can be optimistic. We got all March to August to be negative!

I yearn for the good old days when the optimists would drool over the pre-season fitness and physique of the players and the pessimists would remind them that's all well and good to be in great condition in the off season, and it's all well and good to win more than we lose all season, but it's in the first 2-3 weeks of September that we lose badly and get to be negative.

To be fair it happens every year mate.

I remember one particular pre-season training session that I went to many moons ago waaaaay back in 2013/14.

Developing mature age ruckman Daniel Currie was clunking every ball that entered the forward 50 and was physically dominating Goldy in the ruck contests around the ground.

I proceeded to declare that we were looking at 40 goal per season ruckman who’d already overtaken Goldy as the number 1 ruck, right at the height of his career best form.

Turns out I was wrong. Daniel Currie went on to play 4 AFL games that season averaging 5.5 disposals, 2 marks and 14 hitouts per game.

Who can remember this gem?

The great Alan Obst was the second coming of Glenn Jackovich after Bigfooty alumni snapped a pic of him during an intense pre season workout.

His chiseled physique filled us all with great hope that we’d found a player that pre season. Two weeks later he tore his quad and was delisted at the end of the season.

A real riches to rags story. I assume they’ll make a movie about it one day.

Couldn't find the pic of him carrying the piano?
