I worked with a bloke named Ed, and he had two brothers, Ed and Ed (Edward, Edwin and Edgar). Apparently, their mother liked the name Ed.

When there was trouble she'd stand at the back door and scream out, Ed! None of them knew which one was getting the kick up the arse.
Lawrence Eagleburger named all his three sons Lawrence. For years he claimed it was to confuse Social Security system, eventually he admitted it was just ego.

Was gutted about Schwass too but from a transaction perspective we executed it almost perfectly.

We actually got pick #27 and Grant, if we'd nailed the pick it would've been exceptional.

Swans went after Boomer and Welsh as first option. We offered Anderson, Mark Stevens and someone else (can't recall) that they rejected.

It was Schwass being chased that broke the impasse. Recall us being reluctant but hell bent on landing Grant.

We should have more reluctant. Imagine these days trading your 3rd best player when in premiership mode. We are no good at this trading stuff! Never really have been.

We're actually good at turning chumps into Champs though.

Abrahams, Xerri's, Larkey's of this world... Let's hope we can continue this as if we do, look dafaq out!

Abraham was a jet at Freo though. He just had a much stronger team around him at North.

I never really like trading out players and rated Anderson but couldn't believe my eyes at the trade when it was posted on the club site.

I've compared it before to offloading Jamie MacMillan for Charlie Cameron.

A 22 year old Winnie Abraham is exact type of player we need roaming our forward pocket today.

He would be crumbing off the talls for fun, sticking chaos balls like he has glue on his fingers and sitting on Jack Darling's head for the occasional MOTY contender..

Nothing new but other than RHJ we don't even seem to roll the dice on finding these kinds of talents - great lateral movement, burst of pace, goal sense and arsey marking ability.

Our playbook seems to keep getting guys like Harvey, Drury, Mahony etc - 180cm players who move like 190cm players.

None of them could be described as nimble or electric.

I'd kill for a Leigh Harding in this side let alone a Winston Abraham.

Absolutely. I'm hoping RHJ keep improving and forms a nice duo with Curtis, but it's a fair bit of hope there..

Other teams seem to be putting 4 x pesky smalls around two KPP nowadays to keep that forward pressure at a premium.
Hawforn are doing it, Geelong have done it, Sydney are doing it and GWS just bought in some more too.

Schwass wanted to leave after the run in on the ground with Dennis after the PF. We didn't want to loose him. I think we were blind sighted that he wanted to go to Sydney for memory.

If we kept Schwass, 98 GF may have been different. He was a great big game player.

GL update

Just a few shots from today's training. Due to ongoing health issues I couldn't stay long or really focus too much on what was standing out. But a couple of moments did stand out clearly.

Jack Darling chase down in the middlie showed some real grit to not be beaten.

Will Phil pushing hard to run from one training element to the next showed great determination really shows he's pushing to get the most out of himself.

Luke Urquhart, not only has the most AFL ready body of the new recruits, but is not looking lost amongst the bigger bodies in drills and shows some great decision making and involved in multiple chains.

Caleb Daniel's decision making speed and accuracy continues to impress.

Hospital visits next week so may not get down again to training again this year but hopefully back to more training sessions when they return in the New Year.

Go Roos and Merry Christmas to all.

If you count Toby as one, GWS now have 7 small forwards. Greene, Daniels, Bedford, Thomas, Jones, plus Gotthard and Hannaford from the first round of the last two drafts. A couple will play on the ball or wing, but they are going to be a nightmare to match up against.

Looks like we’ve picked up Nathaniel Sulzberger for our VFL. Great pick up as a young mid.

Looks as though Benny Hopkins is back too.

Love those additions.

Gathered from my viewing of the photos
Yes excellent hoffseason gains that's for sure.
