It’s not a victim mentality. It’s a fact.

Look at the experienced supporting cast those two you mentioned have and had.

LDU is one of 18 blokes on the field and led the team in Brownlow votes (18) in a side that won three games.

Prime Wayne Carey would look like CCJ in our current set up (2020-2024).

Your bizarre writing off of our best player is one of the stranger positions held on this forum.
Carey had more than 18 b/l votes once in his career.

LDUs primary job is to attack the ball but he does chase, defend and put on blocks at other times. He put in multiple 20 or 30m chases at high pace last season in each of the Hobart games.

teams split into 3 groups.
Team 1 transitioning out of defence with team 2 defending. If team 1 gets it into forward 50, team 2 needs to switch to the other side of the ground and defend again against team 3 who is now transitioning and generally starts before the defending team gets there. If the defending team causes a turn over though then the transitioning team needs to run over and defend team 3. If you win by either transitioning to forward 50 or cause a turn over you get a break.
It’s a brutal drill if you don’t get a win.
Caleb Daniel again stood out with his ball use and overlap run.
Luke Parker is moving really well, just knows where to be.
Sheez has had a few fumbles, dirty on himself.
FOS is a beautiful kick, stood out a couple of times with his ball use.
Lovely work

heading down again sunday or tues?

Thanks for the reports guys. Some real quality write ups there. Most of the players I was keen for comment on have been spoken for although I was keen to know how Powell looked today.
Powell looked good fit and stronger in the contest, played in the mid
Colby also looked good playing in the mid, not quite as fit as Sheezel at times.
Sheezel really leading the standards. the boy looks primed. should be the next Captain.
I can see the Bont type leadership in him. Very driven

He was at the AFLW GF with his kids. Had to trope all the way to the back of the stands as there were no seats - club obvs didn't organize any tickets for ex-players.
Or, he didn't ask the club for any.

I went down watched training
Sheezel looked very fit, pushed hard during drills and was out in front leading and setting the standard.
JD is a big unit and looked good, should be a big help to the forward line
As everyone has said, Caleb Daniel elite foot skills and decision making looked fantastic
Wardlaw on the other hand, his kicking was poor turned it over by foot every time. I mean every time.
Bull running through the mid field a lot, looks in good nick and dominated. I think he's in for a big season.
Finnbar, I'm sorry I just don't see what every body else sees. Just another VFL player to me at this stage. yes he's young and I could be wrong.
urquhart looks good, could be a great pick up.
No one really rates Finbar that highly except old mate

As unaccustomed as I am agreeing with Nostra I did see some things in Finbar's games this year that were a point of difference to what we have on the list if they could be developed. Not as convinced that he can translate that to AFL level at this stage. Just more hopeful than anything I suppose.

Hey I don't mean to keep pointing the finger at just him but what happened to the bloke that used to scare the crap out of people ? I think he had a higher work rate in his first few years rather than his later years
Looks to me like he went through a period where he started to drink his own bathwater, didn't do the work and didnt have enough peer support to get him back in line

True, but he was also incapable of keeping that intensity for the whole game.

Is LDU a defensive animal? No.

None of the great offensive midfielders are.

For every Petracca, there’s a Neal-Bullen.

For every Neale, there’s a Dunkley.

The criticism of LDU’s defensive side is greatly overstated just as the offensive output is understated.

Sonyoure elite in a whole host of offensive stuff?

Pfft, you don’t go at 10 tackles a game so you’re putrid.

Personally, I don’t want LDU to be as defensively accountable as others. He needs to be freed up as much as possible.

Sure I expect him to put in when it’s his turn, but optimally we need him to be freed up as much as possible because he’s such a weapon offensively. Same goes for Sheez. Horses for courses

At the stoppage yes… but LDU can improve defensively grabbing someone quickly on the spread when the opposition has the football
He’s probably still trying to extract someone’s fingers from his arseh*le if the other team does get it.
