There are no excuses to not win at least 8 games. The club has imported 800 games of experience FFS. The rest of the core of the side is in their early prime years.

The club should be aiming for 10 wins.
I think your setting yourself up here. They may aim to win every game but thats not going to happen.

Until the draft from 2021 - current. all have 50 games under their belts we are going to see the same shit.

Perhaps a little more competitive and maybe in games for longer. Whether that translates to W’s is unknown.

Im not holding my breath.

Yeah i think your pretty spot on Duck personally I'm not worried about the amount of wins next year obviously want to win more than we have been winning but definitely not putting a number on it. 20-26 is when we will see a huge jump and while we are on about wins it won't matter how many games we win next year LDU will still be sighing with us long term.

Corr, Logue, Daniel, Comben
Parker, LDU, Simpkin, Powell
Larkey, Darling, Zurhaar
Xerri

All entrenched Best 22 players who will be entering at least their fifth year, a fair portion of them 8+.

Sheezel, Wardlaw, McKercher, Archer, Curtis

The younger blokes who won’t have to shoulder as much of the load.

The excuses need to stop.

Fair call Duck, I agree. We are still so young. I am really hoping that we see a more consistent 'post-bye' form throughout the entire season where we are in more games than we're not - i.e, stuff resembling an actual footy team. And who knows if someone might take a leap like Xerri and Archer did. I'm looking forward to the season.

Yeah it’s not rocket science- look at other clubs that have great output from players in yrs 2-4 and im not talking about top 10 picks.
No more excuses should be plastered in the change rooms

We won 3 this season

Could have won-

Pies
Go Deez
Eagles

That’s 6

I reckon 6-9 would a base to build on

And the other big thing is no more 10 goal plus thumpings
You're essentially using 2024 plus a couple of rubs of the green as the baseline for 2025.

If adding 3 veterans 1 of whom cost a decent price merely stabilises 3 games against non-finalists, that's a pretty low bar.

Precisely.

Thanks Debbie

We are North, though. I can't remember when the last time we got the rub of the green (on field). It must have happened, I just can't picture it.

Rub of the green as well..

The Pies game should never have come down to an umpire mistake at the end of play. We were good to get that lead and more experienced heads would have hopefully assisted in protecting that lead.

The GoDeez, one dubious free and the rest was winnable with experienced heads

And the Eagles game; well a series of poor mistakes in those those last 4 minutes

We can’t have it both ways

If you think Parker for example was a must get for his experience then these are the types of games where he stands up and leads…but in the world of BF as certain as the first close loss comes, watch the Parker Pile On

PPO

It’s coming…

Tend to agree, Gaso.

We butchered the Collingwood and Eagles games. The 3 we won, we nearly coughed up. Even the Melbourne game we had plenty of time to find the winning goal but panicked. Mind you, Melbourne could claim to have thrown it away if we had won.

With calm heads onfield, 5 wins was probably about right.

We've definitely had it for periods during games in recent years, but I can't remember the last time we consistently received the lenient end of the officiating for the whole game. The Pies game this year is remembered for those final few minutes but there were quite a few free kicks our way in the first half, in particular, which made me wince. The free to X on the boundary line that he somehow converted was a shocker
