There's also a set of standard AFL-wide training all draftees must complete. Respect, drug and alcohol awareness, OH&S stuff etc.
We need more running and kicking footballs.

And less woke indoctrination.

F.U. Dan Andrews.

Remember we were one vaccination away from having to play Khamis at Full Back all year...

Can see the additions of Hynes and Davidson (who probably splits his time between AFL and VFL level next year) being of benefit in that regard.

Buss, Buku and Croft as our set and forget key defenders (unless called up to the top level) has a good balance and bodes well for the future.
But this is what concerns me. What is the value in having Hynes and Davidson playing tall at VFL level but then having a completely different role if lining up at AFL level with Darcy, Naughton and Jamarra?

You make a good point re: Davidson. I expect if he comes into the AFL it’ll be as a high forward so probably better for him to be playing that role.

Hynes on the other hand will likely play primarily as a Stringer (yuck) style power forward with stints in the middle as he builds up his tank. Wouldn’t expect to see him debut next year unless we have some forwards go down injured.

Flea and Scott need to be delisted for rocking up in those pants.

Welcome to the 2025 Pre Season 🧵

Great to see all those great pics of the boys rocking up for pre season training. They look fit and they look keen. Top 4 this year is a given.
A special shout out to flea and Scott for being environmentally conscious and buying all their clothes from St Vinnies and helping to reduce land fill. Putting unwanted clothing to good use and saving the planet. Thanks boys I really really love ya.

Brew is the only player whom I believe has the potential to be more influential than Bont.
I would go as far as saying he is our missing ingredient.
Think Brew could infuse some aggression and toughness that we lack in our forward line. Looks like he has spent plenty of time in the gym doing French presses.
If his dogged determination can filter through the team then we will have a stronger and more consistent blend with a touch of bitterness that we have lacked previously. If we can percolate this style during the season it will hold us in good sted and then bring it to the boil come finals time.

If he gets a game it'd be great to hear the Breust/Cooney "OOO" type response from the crowd.

And just add a "-tal" on the end whenever he executes a ferocious tackle: BROOO-tal.

In fact if I can get in before grassman75 I'd go with Brootle as a nickname.

Spell it any way you want ... Brutal Brewtal, Brootle. Designed to be chanted, not written.

Don’t forget Buuuuuku!

That's OK dogwatch but I think Flat White.

He is not a latte fancy style kind of player but better than instant. Just a simple flat white brew.

Going pretty well financially
Can someone please explain "surplus from redevelopment activities of $17,149,750". Is that extra curricular events at MWO and Coterie stuff? Or is that simply a revised land valuation of MWO with the new facilities now in place?

Doesn't the council technically own the land and we have a term lease over it?

Accounting gets mighty creative at times so it would be interesting to read a line by line.

Didn't we get gifted a parcel of land from the State Government? That was pivotal in getting us to the point where we could do the redevelopment I thought.

I'm thinking it's the increase in the asset value (on the books) because of the redevelopment.

That $6 million provision for legal judgements still has the potential to severely impact us moving forward. At least it’s already on the balance sheet.

We only have about $5 million in cash available but a $4.5 million WBC facility to draw down upon if needed.
Already hit the books which is the main thing. How it gets paid out eventually won’t break us.
