Every kick, every tackle, every sprint, in the back of his mind would have been concerned his hamstring might ping. Would have been messing with him big time mentally, even when seemingly fit.

Think people underestimate that side of injuries. At afl level, running around with even 1% of doubt can totally ruin your form.

Yep

Do you think Moir is fighting for that spot as well or is he in the fight with Durdin/Motlop et al?

Harry
Charlie

Kemp/Jsos/(Moir depending structure)

Then Motlop, Durdin, Williams, Moir, Fantasia,

If we want more flexibility, Elijah, Cottrell, Cincotta, Doc

Right now I have it as

Elijah Charlie Motlop
Williams Harry Moir

7th spot is a rotating players, other midfielders, including Doc

PLAYERS WHO IMPRESSED

Adam Cerra – Hamstring issues have peppered Cerra’s last two seasons but the former Docker looked in great shape to dive into pre-season. The onballer moved well and was not part of the large rehab group at the start of training.

Corey Durdin – Blues fans have high hopes for Durdin after shoulder woes and he moved strongly on Wednesday, despite wearing a fluoro cap, indicating he was not to have contact. With Matt Owies now at West Coast, Durdin and Jesse Motlop will hold important roles next year as small forwards.

Jack Silvagni – It was in last pre-season Silvagni did his ACL and missed the entire season, but he looked ready to go on Wednesday. He played as a forward target during a midfield drill.

Ollie Hollands – The renowned runner never has any question marks about his fitness and he appears well suited to a role at half-back. The Blues will debate his position throughout summer but his line breaking run was a highlight of a defensive drill.

i did like TDK to corey durdin 'nice to meet cha, what pick were you?'
If I was TDK, I would have gone with 'You must be the father/son prospect. How many years until you are draft eligible?'

Fogarty (25) kicked 9 goals in 15 games last year while Motlop (just turned 21) kicked 6 from 7 - I reckon its Motlop’s spot to lose

Different skill set & forward output. Fog on the goal assists and pressure, adds a more rounded role in the fwd50.

Motlop needs to improve his defensive game to move ahead in the pecking order. Has his nose in front on the attacking side.

I love Walshy but you never learn much from his interviews. Just one buzz word after another. Says all the right things in all the right ways but not particularly interesting to listen to (of course I still listened to the whole thing). 🤣

I think there's room for both. I have Williams, Mots and Fog. Good balance of attacking flare and pressure.

Ollie Hollands won the 2k time trial in front of Binns, Walsh, Lord and Elijah
Never going to happen but would love to know the times. I wonder where Jagga ended up?

Great Ollie has managed to overtake Binns whilst also putting on size. Looks primed. Last year was 1. Cotts 2. Binns 3. Ollie. 4. Charlie 5. Elijah.

6.30ish in the Blue View training video the boys were finishing a run with a coach/S&T person counting 45, 46, 47, 48, 49, 50. Just maybe announcing seconds on clock as they were finishing…

Old Coona has QLD covered. Accommodation booked Sunday to Tuesday. No seven hour round trips on spec. Just have to suss out times for other on ground activities Monday to Tuesday or Wednesday.

Kid finished school and wifey on holidays that week. Finally a “plan” comes together. So pleased the club announced this one along with Melbourne session ensuring will be more sessions following.
Feel free to slip Voss a note that reads 'PUT KEMP IN THE MIDDLE'
Positions: Ollie half-back, Newman wing, Kemp forward, SOS forward, Williams forward, Cincotta forward, by the sounds of it.

Players that impressed: Cerra, O.Hollands, Durdin, JSOS
Newman to the wing is a bit frustrating, but I suppose he's going to need minutes there in pre-season as a fallback if we don't want to shift Hollands much next season.

I'm hoping Jagga and Walsh are the first choices to rotate with Acres.

Yeah, I did notice that too. Though doubt it was a 2km time trial, as the pack was so close together.

Going by past results I reckon we have at least 7 guys that can go sub 6 minutes. Cotts, Ollie, Binns, Walsh, Elijah. Lord, Charlie. I wonder how much elite underage runners actually improve their times in the AFL system though or if it's more about maintaining while putting on size?
