Kudos to Binnsy
Correct me if I'm wrong but his kniock early days was his inability to endurance run? Obviously gone to work on it so well done to him
With O.Hollands going back I reckon we can just about lock in Doch and Acres as our 2 permanent wingers. Newman, O.Hollands, E.Hollands, Walsh and/or Jagga all capable of rotating there when they need a rest. Binns to cover in case of injury.
I dont buy Newman moving up the ground permanently. Reckon we're just trying to add another string to his bow for flexibility.
He is. I was just talking about players who could rotate onto a wing to give doc and acres a spell. How about Cerra? Should be a lock for the midfield surely
Nice. Did you get intel on that or was it posted somewhere? Didnt see anything.Bottom 5 Pitto, Orazio, McGovern, Charlie and Motlop
I reckon they are monitoring his loads more than anything elseWalsh starting in the rehab group
Sighhhhhh
For a player who lacks acceleration I'd say its hugely concerning if true. His best bet is getting uber fit and simply outworking his opponents ala Dylan Moore/Gryan Miers. Unfortunately for him he doesn't have the athletic profile of someone like Kozi Pickett or Bobby Hill where they can genuinely burn off opponents with straight line speed or agility. How do we know Motlop finished bottom 5?
In either case its not automatically huge concern. Looking at our list how many players would we honestly expect him to beat?
Endurance is never going to be his strength. Whats more important is whether hes improving or going backwards. And if he is bottom 5, was he reasonably close to others or a mile behind the pack.
If there were 5 seconds between the bottom the 10, thats not as much of an issue as if he was lagging 30 seconds behind.

I think it’s a massive concern for his ability to apply sustained pressure up forwardHow do we know Motlop finished bottom 5?

Highly likely certain players were under instruction to take is easy, particuarly those in the managed group like Gov.McGovern
Doubt it.Highly likely certain players were under instruction to take is easy, particuarly those in the managed group like Gov.
Charlie finished 4th in our 2km last year. Fanta is would be in our top 6-8 for endurance too. Those 2 at the very least werent trying.
So you think Charlie has gone from top 5 in endurance at the club to bottom 5?Doubt it.
Fanta is a top endurance runner too. Im not saying all bottom 5 were told to take it easy. But the fact Charlie and Fanta were close to last suggests at the very least some were. There is no world in which those 2 are bottom 5 if they are going 100%.Charlie is consistently in the top 3-5 runners at the club. Even if McGov and Fanta were in the bottom bracket we need not worry about Charles. Likely just recovering from his ankle surgery still.
On the others I agree. I'm not sure why anyone would believe a player would get sent out to do a 2km TIME TRIAL and told to take it easy lol? The whole point of them is to get a basis to model the rest of their preseason running around.
They'd just be doing individual running if they were being told to cool the jets a bit when everyone else is doing the 2km
Fogarty also has 4 years longer in the system- the upside of Motlop is much higher.Different skill set & forward output. Fog on the goal assists and pressure, adds a more rounded role in the fwd50.
Motlop needs to improve his defensive game to move ahead in the pecking order. Has his nose in front on the attacking side.
Kemp may be a victim of his flexibility - so he can play in multiple spots, but when compared to players who plays a specific spots - he doesn't quite match upVoss ain’t putting Kemp in the middle mate. While I believe he could play there, we are going to have a rejuvenated Cerra and Walsh as well as the Hollands boys pushing for minutes, possibly Doc, then factor in two quality midfield draftees, with Jagga providing an excellent POD opportunity. Hoping Kempy is prepared as a shock trooper forward as well as keeping his hand in back (hopefully in a slightly less accountable role)
Newman played a bit of wing at the Swans and is no stranger to the role. Suspect more a bit of a pre season change up to freshen Newy as well as providing opportunity to others to develop their “craft” behind the ball. Not reading much in to it.
