Yes, but you would want to maximise your Flex with some loop actionsMy understanding is that Flex will replace your lowest on field score, doesn't need to be a zero for flex to kick in.
Not convinced fading Smith will hurt as much as it might with other players.Agree with this.
Smith has his faults as a player, but he's always been super fit so TOG shouldn't be an issue.
He's been out for 18 months and will be chomping at the bit to start well. Strange fade given his ownership will be massive.
His bye is round 3 so he won’t even move in price until after. It’s definitely a valid strategy to fade him and then correct to him after round 3 if he looks good. I don’t think he’s that likely to go massive in his first 2 games at a new club after so long off so you’re unlikely to get burnt badly by not having them. And even if he does go well in the first 2 rounds you’ll gain points over everyone else when he has the bye and you have rankine or whoever elseNot convinced fading Smith will hurt as much as it might with other players.
Even if he becomes a must have early, he will only have put on max 50k by his bye and should top out in low 500k. Not unreachable by any stretch.
Plan on taking the cash saved and putting it into another midfielder. The upside on taking say:His bye is round 3 so he won’t even move in price until after. So the big question is. Are emergencies onfield being on the bench or are they sitting in the stands watching the game.My understanding is that Flex will replace your lowest on field score, doesn't need to be a zero for flex to kick in.
Current side is 5 deep defenders, 6 mids 2 rucks, only 3 fwds.Warming to 6 deep mids, counting Peatling.
May go down one and add a defender though still.

I am not sure how Milera fits into the Crows defence.Latest update after the injury news:
Holmes -> Clark
Z.Reid -> Milera (D5)
Maric -> NOD
Boyd > A.Reid
Phillipou -> Maric
$70.6k itb
Clark: owned him last year, happy to jump on again
Milera: is fit and firing, played 22 games in 2023, think he'll be a great D5/D6
NOD: training well, rather take a chance on an older player than take another expensive 1st year-er
Boyd > A.Read: Boyd had ice on his pec/shoulder according to track watchers. Archer Reid is having a good preseason, with the lack of talls at the Eagles, I reckon he'll get some games this year.
Maric: if he has a half back role, he could rack up big numbers
Mark Keane will be in that back 6.I am not sure how Milera fits into the Crows defence.
I would assume the Crows back 6 would look something like this.
Hinge, Murray, Nankervis
Worrell, Butts, Laird
Plus the fact that he is injury prone, it is a huge risk.
I suppose with Laird going back the defence will look a little different. I do think Milera plays if he's fit though. Played 22 games in 2023, then had a freak accident last year. I just don't like the cheap options down back. If Milera plays and stays fit, he should be good for 70-75, and with the odd spike game, he can make good money. In 2023 he made it ~$450k.I am not sure how Milera fits into the Crows defence.

What about Michalanney?Mark Keane will be in that back 6.
Boyd is an absolute lock if he plays in round 1. Apparently he had ice on his pec/shoulder after yesterdays horror training sesh/match sim. Hopefully it's not too serious.Now that Phillipou out for an extended rest will need a shuffle for most sides. Talk that Marshall carrying a couple of injuries really makes Boyd a huge option/cashcow
What?So the big question is. Are emergencies onfield being on the bench or are they sitting in the stands watching the game.
Reason is this could cancel out VC/C loophole plays later (would like to start with a full bench of playing rookies).
Need Al Patton to clarify this.
Milera isn't an option mate. Just figure something else out. If he even makes it to round one uninjured it won't be long. There will be enough def rooks.Latest update after the injury news:

From reading reports my guess is Crouch, Dawson, Rankine, Peatling and Soligo are the main guys.Crows an interesting one- peatling, cumming, Neal Bullen, Laird, Couch, Draper. Who will get mid minutes and who gets pushed out. Keays, Dawson, Rankine, soligo, rankine, Dawson, Berry, Rachelle… can’t all get sustained mid minutes!
I forgot about Michalanney.What about Michalanney?
Brodie Smith is still around. Murray and Borlase played 10 games last year.
Hinge, Murray, Nankervis, Worrell, Butts, Laird, Keane, Milera, Smith, Murray, Borlase, who knows what they have in mind...
I forgot about Michalanney.
No way Milera gets in that defence now.
