Rightio. As MT said, this week is all about rookies. Forget premos, pay extra next week. Cash gen is absolute key.

What are our must have rookies on the bubble this week?
Jack Henderson
Nathan O’Driscoll
Xavier Lindsay
Mitch Knevitt
Elijah Hewett
Sam Davidson

Consider:
Levi Ashcroft
Murphy Reid
Daniel Curtin
Connor O’Sullivan
Lucas Camporeale
Tyrell Dewar

WIP list.

Disappointed myself that he'll be one I have to miss, as I've got 7 other MID rookies already. Given the basement price, he'll make $120k+ at a minimum you feel.
I’m still a bit tempted by Murphy Reid – looks in no danger of being dropped and seemed to run out the game well, so not too much of a sub risk hopefully

But Henderson being mature aged and bottom priced is hard to knock back

Rookies (BE)

D: Prior(-12) COS(-53) Reid(-10) Trainor (-10)
M: NOD(-75) Lash(-52) Lindsay(-75) Knevitt (-56) Tsatas(-21) Hewett(-41) Hastie(-8)
R: Boyd
F: SPP(0) Davidson(-47) Stone(-39) Kako(-12) Paton (-35)

Hastie/Paton/Stone/Prior may make way for Bice/CHall/Clohesy types next week.

Love Hastie to get another crack. Thought the kid was good.

What's Geelong O'Sullivan's JS like?

Any danger from collar jazz knee or the like?
Very hard to know with Geelong. They rarely give much info.

Probably depends on Stewart's injury. If he misses a month COS might hold, as he played well the other night.

And if the cats list Stewart as a month out on their injury list, he's just as likely to play next week.

I'm skipping Lashcroft. I'm gonna back my gut that Fagan will vest him before guys like Raynor, even if performance doesn't merit it. Lohmann and Cameron will be back next week or the week after. He'll be a good rookie and average around 70-75 from full games, but with zero CBAs I don't think he can get big scores, and yep, I reckon he cops the vest very soon (green and red). So be it if I'm wrong, at least my alternative should do OK.
Cheap rookies and 2nd/3rd year rookie priced players make most cash, majority of the time. Daicos unicorns the exceptions.

I still remember Stewart's knee injury from a few years ago.

Cats said he was out for 5-6 weeks and he only ended up missing one week. I traded him out and upon his return after 1 week he pumped out 100+

Don't trust them at all when it comes to injury disclosures.

Connor O’Sullivan

Interesting these two are listed as "must haves".

I have various trade iterations planned for this week that include those two, but it doesn't seem all that certain that they'll get a continuous string of games before they've earned enough?

What do you reckon?

Isn't Pickett back after this weekend? What does that mean for Henderson?

Plenty of other turds making their way out before Hendo

Yep. Spargo, Woewodin and Sharp were trash. Henderson is competing hard. No reason why Pickett, Chandler and Hendo can't be their long-term small forward crew.

Fritsch hasn't done much this season either although not sure if he'd be dropped

Whats the knock on Hastie? He passes the eye test. Not fit enough?

No knock, it's just balancing the bigger bodies. Stocker was taking down Danger, you wouldn't put Hastie near Danger.

No knock ....it appeared after the R1 defeat, Ross reverted to experienced players

I don't see COS as a must have. He could pump out 50s in the next few weeks, get dumped for Kolo, make the same cash as Trainor and cost you a trade.

Decent offensively, not great defensively and a bit small. Ross has his validation from axing the rookies, not sure how much chance they get early now
Any thoughts on the other dropped Saints rookie Boyd?

Reports on his form in the VFL weren't outstanding & Marshall played well. I think at best he's in a 3 way mix with Keeler & Heath for resting ruck.

I need to bring in Lindsay for one of Lalor or Finn O'Sullivan. Leaning on FOS given Lalor did score 70 odd in his first game.

And that leaves me only able to bring in one of Connor O'Sullivan, and Hewitt. (Horne Francis was dumped)
Leaning towards O'Sullivan, given poor the defensive stocks. Its a choice of Reid or Trainor to make way. Who would most here pick to make way?
