Mids bench is looking dicey. I don't like it at all outside Max Hall(mature age, killing it in training) at a lovely price.

No matter who i choose for the other two spots, i won't like it.

I reckon there's at least one, likely two, spots for Allan, C.Hall and Hewett at the Eagles.

Believe it or not.

Finnbar Maley (Ruc/FWD) or whatever his name is a massive R1 smokey for NM.

One of the best on ground rotating CHF & CHB in our intra, but interestingly did not back up ruck for X, which we need.

May skip ahead of Teakle for backup ruck duties, but Boyd (StK) looks the beat option, and a few good FWD rookies popping up.

Alot have him in best 22 on ports board.

Personally I've got Smith and Draper, just to stop me spending the money. Sounds like Draper isn't a goer so will swap at some point.

l dropped out Smillie and Draper but brought in L. Ashcroft and Finn O'Sullivan...for me thats an upgrade,,

Has been good at training so far but the proof will be in the practice games, has been playing predominantly midfield and going well so hopefully translates to proper games

Go look at his stats from VFL last year, and then the last round of the AFL. Scored 94 in a stacked midfield off minimum touches.

Daicos is fine. De Goey is on track for round 1. Then there's Pendles, Crisp and Perryman. Titch is delayed, but he's running again now and will come in at some point. Even if Allen is picked in rd1, if the 5 I mentioned are in the side, I don't think he gets enough midfield time to score well. Certainly an option if De Goey breaks down, he's next in line.

Hewett is a 100% lock if fit.

Hall has been very impressive this pre-season, starting to put on some muscle as below and Allan is the most likely of our draftees to play according to the watchers.

I don't plan or starting him from what i have read, even if named for round one.

Mullin $212k - Almost 25 yo and he's played 18 games now, including 2 finals last year. Another preseason under his belt. Is there a spot for him in this Cats side?
Williams $184k - Played 20 games in 2023. Apparently having a good preseason. Can he take Houston's spot?
Milera $254k - Played 22 games in 2023. Sounds like he's progressing well this preseason. He'll play if he's fit.
Logue $245k - Surely he plays if he's fit?

Yeah, I dont think hes worth the elevated price. Even if he plays, hes not a natural accumulator and will playing play a supercoach unfriendly role.

Mullin rumoured to be lining up on a wing this season, possibly in a defensive role. The man has serious tools if he can get up to speed on the nuances of our difficult game.

After the Gibcus/ZReid debacle last year, I'm too scared to run young KPD on-field.

El-Hawli has the scoring potential, but I'm not convinced he automatically comes into that Bombers side (especially with Zerrett and Shiel getting time at half back this preseason).

Happy to take 2 cheapies on the bench, but I reckon I'll take a punt on more expensive players at D5 and D6 (currently Sinn + Trav, but that could be Milear + Mullin, or DylWilliams + somebody).
