Huge chance of going 120+ with flawless PS, until this happened.

Missed a chunk of 2024 PS with concussion issues.

Then there is Darcy, but he is so good FWD.
How is he going 120+? The new ruck rules have exposed him imo. And Darcy might already be a better player. He will become more and more influential.

Imagine if he missed a large chunk, I’m 100% looking at Darcy. Absolute star.

Went 128 the year before.

He also had a full preseason that year.

What are the new rules you mention?

And yes, Darcy makes things interesting but is more of a FWD for Dogs and backup ruck.

It wasn't the Ruck contests that impacted English last year .....it was his around the ground possessions being down

We know he had issues with migraines ....I was always of the opinion, as an owner, English was carrying a few extra kgs ....assuming he couldn't do the same intensity of PS running

If you look at his PS photo's this year ...he looks decidedly lighter

The news also is, English is going to be playing more behind the ball this year

With news of English injured, question marks over Darcy, I’m going to take a very close look at Lloyd Meek and Darcy Cameron.
Reading FREO training reports ....there's no issue with Darcy ...it was a pre-planned 5 ays trip, whilst players were on a break

English is interesting, even strange .....he can still run, just non-contact ....I would have thought with the reported injury, running would have been curtailed ??

They changed it before last season, rucks can block with a straight arm. Not good when you are a ruck that has arms like pipe-cleaners.

Also the WB had less stoppages which gave him less chances to score. Unless they change again he'll struggle to go massive.

Think theres a bit of what you are saying, combined with concussion issues and not a great PS last year.

Assuming a smooth run from his current injury, definitely think he can push close to 120 again.

This. After the Sweet debacle last year I'm not having a rookie priced ruck on field.
Boyd will probably be one of the best points per dollar players to start the season. You want those guys on field if you can.

The flex gives us the perfect insulation against him being dropped as well. Pick two other rucks and play him in flex. If he gets dropped, park him at R3, swing your DPP to the forward line and bring a MID/FWD rookie on field.

If named round one, he is a lock for my team. If Marshall isn’t named round one, he’s a lock on field.

Things might be getting interesting. Injury cloud over English and JUH's circumstances means Crossley might be taken if he performs well enough. Could use him as a ruck/fwd leaving Darcy as a foward. Not sure of his VFL SC numbers.

Is he even fit lol

Currently have gone the 3 lock rucks (Gawn, Xerri and Cameron) with the flex from the get go.

Now, is that stupidly tying up too much money there? Rucks perform super well and are dotted throughout the top 20 scorers.

With the prevalence of a mid price madness up forward, I feel like i can spend more here, with the same output from the lower priced fwds.

No harm in doing it if you believe they'll be top scorers. We'll all end up with ruck or mid premo in flex as our 23rd premo.

It is a lot of cash though. If Flynn and Boyd play in rd1, they could make a heap of cash as flex and R3, lots will do that for cash gen.
