List Mgmt. 2025 Trade/FA Thread

I don’t think Condon will be available. Or at least for a couple more years.

Our VFL ruckman are very young and will need time.

I think Ramsden has potential and could even just be a forward of the future.
I suggested his name in the trade period just gone and he’s the one I’d be going hard at as a replacement for Cox. He kicks goals for fun at VFL level, was sharp against us in gather round last year and just needs exposure at the top level, IMO.

Not sure that Busslinger and Khamis would be playing for the same spot. Khamis more that 3rd up intercept player while Buss is playing as a genuine key defender as far as I can see. Lobb is also 32 and Jones 34, so there’s definitely a need for them to have quality tall defenders coming through to replace them both, possibly Jones by next year.
They were this week with ODonnell and Jones both out.

We need key position backs, not ruck / forward

I don't know how they can throw money at Bruzzie when they are paying LDU that crazy dosh.
Exactly.
LDU is 25. How many AA teams has he made?
Zero.

The Maynard rumour is BS. They are not offering him that contract. He will stay at the Pies where he belongs.

Why wouldn’t they shoot down the false accusation publicly then?

I guess they don’t mind if Pies end up being forced to stump up more for a deal, but wouldn’t they begrudge the fact that all of their players are wondering why they’re being paid half of what they’re offering a fella from another club?

No need to shoot it down, when it’s not true.
They have a good coach and some very good players. They will be hard to beat at Marvel this year.

But nothing will change the fact they are AFL owned and a name only. Shin boner spirit is a load of shit.

If they truly don’t want him and don’t want to pay him that, why not come out and say ‘yeah, nah we pay our players fairly and that story simply isn’t true’?

Reassures their own players. Makes the media look a fool.

It just ramps up the speculation and what do they say when the journo responds with - "I'm hearing it's pretty close to that. What are you offering him?" They have to dodge the question and it looks like they're talking shit.

Clubs don’t generally take on the media, especially small clubs like North.
North are also owned by the AFL, who will be happy to see them get some media exposure.

If you’re Clarko or whoever you just say ‘go back and listen to my last answer again. It’s March and we’re worried about winning games of football in 2025.’

This week there was only 1 key forward above 190cm playing though (let’s not pretend Cox is any threat up forward these days)

Cheers.

Strong overhead? Reads the game well?

This is about all the footage easily available online beyond full games (nobody cares about uploading GWS clips!). He high points the ball aerially really well and is super quick for his size. I think he has the draft combine record for vertical leap (107 cms). I would love him as a Howe replacement. Good interceptor and rebounder and strong 1v1

I'd be excited. The Sudanese boys can take a bit longer as they tend to be long and lean and core strength can need a fair bit of work.

The one thing to keep in mind with Leek is that he was drafted at 21 so he turns 24 this year (for context he’s 15 months older than McInnes). He’s clearly not the finished product after 3 years in the system and limited exposure, but nor is he the typical young KPP that’s afforded time after being poached. Given trade cost and salary he’d be expected to produce as of Rd 1 2026.

I could not disagree more strongly. Given our list profile we need both. I think it’s unlikely, but there is a reality where we need to replace all of Cameron, Cox, Howe and Mihocek post 2025 for varying reasons especially given 3 of the 4 are currently without contracts for 2026.

That’s my concern with him. If he hasn’t put it all together yet he may never do so. VFL numbers don’t exactly leap off the page…

I’m all for a swing for the fence for the right price, but he shouldn’t be viewed as a plug and play.

Plenty of players with outstanding athletic attributes never forge a successful career.
