I think people sometimes forget just how wonderful Heppell's All-Australian year was. Jobe goes down with injury and suddenly it's Dyson playing blinder after blinder in the middle, willing the side over the line on numerous occasions. He won ABC Grandstand's player of the year and was being talked up as a potential Brownlow chance - that's a pretty good indication of the quality year he put together.

In saying that, I have no hesitation in saying that this was Hepp's finest game for the club. I thought he was superb all night, and if he can continue hitting the scoreboard regularly, that's just going to elevate him to a whole new standing within the league.

The best part was not the possessions or goals. Best part was he was equally as good going the other way. No standing around and pointing. Simply got on with the job found the player in his zone when needed and lead the way. Easily the best game he has played.

Ah good I've been waiting for this. I've enjoyed reading your criticisms of the way the team and its senior players have performed the defensive side of the game and I was interested to see how you rated them on the weekend. Good to hear

skip telling goddard to shut the **** up then slotting it from 50 was gold

Ditto. As far as analysing the nitty gritty of a player's game and stuff like structures I'm pretty useless so always keen to hear from people who actually know what they're talking about. And it's especially good to hear when it's positive

Got a nomination for goal of the year would have thought Fantas karate goal was better but Heppells was at a huge point in the game
McGovern or Hawkins will win it (assuming those two are the others nominated)

The 3 where Cockatoo, Hepp and Lemmens Haha
the flip? I can accept Cockatoo (forgot about his) but McGovern and Hawkins' were both better than the latter two.

Raz's was much better, the degree of difficulty when he had no momentum going in his movement to get it high enough so that it didn't get smothered and also kick it with the outside of the boot and get it through is a whole other level of difficulty to Hep's which was pretty routine for players these days.
